Worst day in DayZ ever

My friend and I ended up losing all our stuff today, vehicles, tents and all. We were playing on a public server with not too many people on it. I'd say around 10 or so. This chain of events started where we starting losing everything we had, one by one.

 

1. We find two cars, pitch a tent and we're happy campers. We have everything we need. Gear, tents, vehicles, the lot.

 

2. We find a chopper, fix it up, and I die while trying to get out due to a glitch with the Mi-17. Friend picks me up at the coast with his car, takes me back to where I parked my car and we're fine.

 

3. We find a plane. We fix it up, and my friend takes off while singing "I believe I can fly". He immediately dies after striking an invisible obstacle in the sky. While driving to the coast to pick him up, I get a flat tire at Stary Sobor. I run 3k to my friend's car, get parts, and run another 3k back to where my car was. I get killed by a bandit while repairing and have my car stolen.

 

4. I run 7k to where my friend's car was parked, in a wooded and secluded area. He still has vehicle parts in there which I can use to fix up the Mi-17. His car has also been stolen.

 

5. I run to our tents in a different area, also wooded and secluded in an attempt to fuel up the Mi-17 so we can at least gear up faster. The tent is has been looted.

 

6. I run back to the chopper and try to wait there for my friend. I get shot by a retarded hero who asks me to ID myself while I'm unconscious and unable to respond. He then shoots me in the head and finishes me off. I lose all my gear.

 

So now we've lost everything and are back to square one. Bandits and friendly fire I understand. But when shit like this happens due to glitches and bugs in the game, I just start losing interest. Maybe DayZ isn't for me.

My worst experience would've been when I was playing with two of my friends. I ran from Kamenka to the NWAF where I was mobbed by a zombie.

With my legs broken, thats when either A, my friend, or B, a random friendly, started emptying into the huge cluster of zombies, killed them all, and let me escape.

 

I crawled onto the runway and I spent the rest of my time throwing flares up into the sky to try and get the attention of my buddies. We didn't find each other, but then a UAZ came driving toward me. I managed to evade the driver who got out and looked around, so I climbed in and stole it. Eventually he killed me and I later learned he was a hacker :/

I was flying a Chinook around in Epoch today. I found 6 camps, I marked their locations, and was flying back to base to log for dinner. I look behind me, and see a blackhawk chasing me. I somehow couldn't shake it. He shot me down, and I managed to eject. As I combated AI near where I landed, I got obliterated.

That's a sucky way to loose a chinook.  I lost mine last night when my pilot's internet had a lag spike and he got kicked for too high ping.

I learned today that almost anything can damage a chinooks engine. I took one or two 5.56 round from 500-600m and it did 29% damage to my engine

Lol I've never had it THAT bad... although that's probably because I don't play with friends, search for helicopters, or like to fly airplanes...

 

My worst day was probably losing my L86 IW (whatever the infrared rifle is called) after I misjudged the sheerness of a hill and my truck exploded with me inside. When I got to my body, my rifle and my Glock were still there, but all the ammo was gone (oddly enough).
Then I went into Chernogorsk to shoot some banditos. I got rushed by too many zombies and retreated-and stupidly enough decided to ascend the yellow construction crane behind the unfinished building I normally call home.

 

Using my M9, I killed 10-30 zombies as they came up the ladder. The bodies stacked up and eventually (literally) shoved me through the safety railing of the crane.

And when I got back to THAT body? My M24 and my M9 were still on it, with all the ammo looted.

 

...wtf?

Too much planning to keep vehicles and tents. DayZ doesn't like plans.

Consider yourself lucky you got all those vehicles on a public server.

Besides that, I don't trust admins. They can see everything, and too many are kids with no ethics.

I started playing public servers just as "the infection" was introduced. Spent a week server jumping, looking for anti-biotics.

Barely even got geared up. Never found anti-biotics.

Repeatedly had to find my corpse to get just a knife or box of matches from it.

They were hard earned. Tense, because it could be a long run, and the server might restart.

Finally got kitted up except for an axe.

Running on the Electro docks I was lifted up, thrown down and killed.

That bug has never been fixed.

Running back from a Balota spawn, the server restarted. Corpse gone.

Started all over, this time with my partner.

Same deal, but between us we managed to build a full kit. No silenced gun though. And no anti-biotics.

He wanted to stop, and play on my server where we could control infection. Tired of getting infected.

I pushed him to stick it out for the challenge.

We finally got well geared. How? Ran into a couple standing dead guys in the Berezino grocery, as my partner was almost dead from infection, and passing out every half minute.

They had the works. Probably dupers.

A few days later we were out of the 5 or 6 anti-biotics we took from the bodies.

All we were doing was looking for anti-biotics. Getting pretty boring.

I got hammered dead by zeds in Stary. Spawned by Cherno and ran back while he guarded my corpse.

Nice nighttime run in the woods. Middle of nowhere.

Halfway back to Stary he says a hero spawned by him, then disappeared.

A minute later I got puppetted and brought to the "hero" 30 yards back. He had zeds with him that started wailing on me, and I alt-F4ed.

Told my partner to do the same. Lost half our gear.

We met up on a different server, divvied up the gear, and called it a night.

With the current infection mechanic, one time getting hacked was enough for me.

Haven't been back to public servers since. We might go back if the infection is modified.

Let's hope hackers and killing bugs get dealt with too.

Life is short, and DayZ life is too short to even measure.

Now that my rage has subsided, it looks like this entire ordeal actually made things in DayZ a bit more interesting. We're scrambling all over the map trying to recover our gear and get even with the people that shot us and stole our things.

Like Vicco said "DayZ does not like plans" I took a full month, stole or repaired six vehicles, looted like a maniac and filled them with weapons, ammo and provisions then scouted for the heli bandits that had been oppressing everyone on the server. I found their camp, recruited player for the raid and when I logged in to gather everyone and start the raid..all the vehicle were gone! Poof! I am confident that it was not OP because I had removed one wheel from each vehicle and stashed them in two separate tents...the tents and wheels were still there. the only admin is the server owner and in my opinion,a fair and honest guy, so I guessed glitch. Sour taste in my mouth...you bet. Did I stop playing, yes, for a few days and I've not spent much time on that server, however I attribute that to finding Musty.

Bottom line...that's the breaks.
