I just want to start off by saying I really enjoy the Day Z mod and currently I am playing it as my main game ignoring other games such as WoW (even tho i still pay for it). Base Building: I just recently came back and my last experience in Day Z although fun after sometime became somewhat annoying because I couldn't save my loot/cars 100% (I like the fact that it could be possible to get you're base/camp raided kind of like Minecraft, even faction power, if u die you lose power and therefore can get land conquered/taken over) But there should be some sort of safety measures in the way instead of just simply walking upon a tent and looting it.I can give an example that runs well w/ this engine (Obviously if this was the method you use it would be made better but a good start) - Anyone who's played Arma 2: Wasteland (The Mod) saw you can do base building. I started playing Wasteland a couple months ago after I stopped a bit of DayZ. I thought to my self, "Dang, If only DayZ had base building. It would help a lot w/ the securing you're items in a fun way which would also give players more objectives to conquer such as building a base, and/or raiding built bases. I recently started playing DayZ and ran into a "Base building server/Self Blood Bagging Server" - I'm having more fun now then ever! Heck! If i wanted I could be a lone wolf (Which I am) and securely secure my items In a small little base I construct w/ "base building" which happens to be exactly like Wasteland! (The Arma2 Mod) I think the Developers should take a serious look at base-building as it adds more features the the game, more things to do, and encourages communities/factions, a good start is the way it was done on the Wasteland Mod.(as stated above, on Minecraft PvP servers you can kill a player 'in a clan' and they will lose 'power' therefore giving the enemy opponent to conquer and take over the land.) Main Town grief on roads wouldn't be allowed cause it it could be set up to where a certain amount of distance from towns/roads bases cannot be built (to avoid random road blocks) ------- Melee: I haven't seen anything said on melee, although for me its not a huge factor I would love to see an improved melee system, some word on the Developing team and if they think this engine can handle a really good melee system would be great! ------- That's pretty much it. I had one suggestion with the hopes of feedback from what the team thinks of it, and a question/concern on (melee) I hope my question's can be answered/reviewed. Both base building and melee are two things that have been suggested multiple times. Make sure you use the search function, located in the top right hand corner of the page [below your name, of course], before posting. 2.
