A brief follow up.  I've been lurking around between Balota and Zelenowhatever.  Good area to do some people watching without running into too many snipers or bandits.  So after seeing some terrible shit go down in the Zelenowherever market, I found my way back down by Balota.  It's pitch black, but since I have those NVGs, it's not a problem. 

 

The darkness is also not a problem because some idiot is standing on top of the ATC tower tossing road flares every which way.  In spite of the perfect 400 m head shot this guy had lined up for me, I couldn't bare to shoot him.  So I just played him some chin music with my DMR and watched him scramble around wondering WTF.
