Server pings suddenly over 1000 for no reason

Hey everyone,

 

I've been playing Dayz Epoch on one server regularly, but suddenly instead of getting the normal ping of 130ms, its jumped up to 1000ms moving down to 350ms every few seconds, I cant even connect, just says waiting for host. Every few tries I do get in, then get kicked after ten seconds or so for a bad signature. The odd thing is, there are other server showing up with pings below 60ms so I know its not my connection, I've validated files for, DayZ, DayZ Epoch and all editions of Arma 2. I have noticed that there is only one server in the green now when there was about ten a few days ago. Its only this one server I really want to play on, everything was fine for months then one day for no reason at all this happens. There was an update for DayZ epoch a few days ago about the same time this happened, but I didn't update and neither did the server.

 

Please help this is really weird.

Could be anthing from bad internet to bad server having too many players. Did you deactivate windows autoupdate?

Its not the server, everyone else on there isnt experiencing any problems whatsoever. It's also not my internet, speed tested from different servers and everything is fine. I didn't disable auto update for windows but it wouldnt matter since I'm still getting servers under 60ms, it's just a select few servers that have jumped from around 130 to 10000.

Also, the pings show over 10000 in both Epoch and DayZ commander.

There is a setting to close DayZCommander after launch, or you can do it manually. Have you tried this?

Nah thats not it, the server appears as over 10000ms in DayZ commander itself, while three days ago it was around 130ms.

Try doing that. It almost always gives a false reading. It is almost always lower in game. 

 

If you are constantly getting wrong signature, verify your cache.

The ping is the same in Epoch i.e. if I don't use commander at all.

Reasons for getting high ping value.

1.High ping is when there is high traffic in your system.

2.This can be either caused by loading such large files that the system cannot handle them, or by running several programs at the same time.

3.High ping is not just due to the bad internet connection. video lag, sound lag, virus, spyware, worms, or so on, could cause the high ping. not enough Ram could cause the problem too.

If you get any high ping ,try to lower your ping rate by using some of the following instructions.

1.Don't open any videos,stream and check if there any problem in your router.

2.Make sure there's no browser .exe's still running in task manager

3.Try to contact your internet service provider and get suitable data plan.

4.Use any software like Game Booster

5.Move closer to server
