oZimby 0 Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) I'm having problems with my fps on DayZ and was looking for some help. When I'm playing Overwatch I get around 20-28 fps out of cities, and when I go into them it is unplayable. I know Overwatch doesn't have the greatest fps, but still. I have tried all servers and I have pretty much the same problem. The weird part is that I get around the same fps when I have the settings on the highest they will go, and the lowest they will go. I have tried all the settings and changing things in the .cfg but can't find a solution. Here are my Pc Specs: AMD FX-8120 Stock clock8GB Corsair 1333Mhz RamGigabyte am3+ motherboardRadeon 7950 3GB Boost700w OCZ Psu1TB HDD I also recently upgraded my gpu from a Radeon 6670 thinking I would get increased fps in DayZ, but no. So I'm thinking it is my processor, but I feel like I should get a decent fps even with that processor. Any help is appreciated! monoking 22 Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Arma 2 does not benefit from more then 2 cores. 4770k here and game will not go above 50% HT off. This game is very CPU intensive and will only benefit from high IPC "Instructions per Cycle" . Amd fails in this area compared to intel so if you want a better FPS get an i5 atleast since this game is very CPU dependent. And overclock it to the MAX. You fell into their fake 8 core marketing wich is actually 2 cores packed in 1 module sharing one floating point unit. If you really want to know if your cpu is bottlenecking your gpu. Download msi afterburner or evga precision tool to measure ur GPU usage. If it's not fully using up to 100-95% then you have a huge CPU bottleneck.
