I have heard that alcohol was already confirmed and that we could use it as an antiseptic to avoid infections from wounds

You're talking about a game where people murder one another at any given opportunity.

In that kind of environment, I'm going to need a drink.

Amen to that....who wouldnt like a glass of good homemade (could be implemented ? :P ) alcohol and some cigs (could be ingame) when exposed to such a stressfull enviroment ?? i would...every day could be your last so why not enjoy it a littlebit...

As a Mormon, I must say that I am entirely against adding anything which supports alcohol usage. Also, I fail to understand the purpose of why this should be implemented.

so you don't fix your leg with morphine?

booze does not warm you up, it does quite the opposite. it only makes you feel that way. that's math!

that explains why it is good to drink loads of beer in the summertime...

yes but it gives the false sensation to get warm

yes but it gives the false sensation to get warm

If it's a matter of first-hand perception vs physical effects, it would likely have to be treated much like painkillers are.

Aspirin won't repair an injury, but it will dull the "pain" signal sent to your brain.

Alcohol won't warm you up, but it will reduce the sensation of "cold", temporarily

However, just like walking on a twisted ankle will damage it further, continued exposure to cold (even if you're rat-arsed and don't notice it) WILL harm you.

For an in-game representation it would require introducing a gradual, measurable effect of exposure for alcohol to "interrupt".

The most likely would be slowed movement and shivering, worsening over time until your body erventually just craps-out on you.

EDIT:

If there's ever any "morale" or "stress" stat for survivors, a wee drinky could play a part in becoming "relaxed" as opposed to "stressed" or "spirited" as opposed to "depressed".

Obviously any benefit would come at the cost of reduced combat effectiveness. Possibly by implementing a slowly swaying screen and the occasional "stumble" in a random direction.
