New deciding factor of bandit and hero skins.

Recommended Posts

Right, I think the way of getting the Hero skin is a bit... messed up. Healing people shouldn't be the only way to get the hero skin it seems a bit pointless, what i mean is shouldn't it be based on the amount of bandits killed AND healing fellow survivors?

Hero skin: 5 bandit kills more than the amount of innocent murders PLUS 5 healings. (blood bags, applying bandages ect.)

Bandit skin: 3 more murders than bandit kills.

How about no skins? In the Sa you can picup cloths, so why not let ppl choose their own outfit, rather than forcing it on people.

Besides, it adds immersion if you see a guy but can't know if he's a bandit or not. Currently, just one look at a player will tell you "OK, this guys gotta shemagh, I'll avoid him/kill him. I think it's far MOAR fun if you have to be extra cautious. Maybe Bandits get a kind of sad/emotionless facial expretion?

Good thinking i didn't think of that, with your facial expressions idea maybe the more murders you commit the more darker your guy looks e.g darker expressions bags under their eyes.

And the more helping you are to players the more care free your character will look maybe a jollier walk the more innocent you are and more of a stoop if you commit murders so then it would encourage people to stay back and analyse how others act before approaching.

I can't remember the name of it but isn't there a DayZ mod in which you can gut people/infected? Imagine a grisled old cannabil hermit in the hills! :D

If only there was a sucluded old shack in the woods and you could put on a spooky voice on direct chat knock lone survivors out and drag them onto a campfire before killing them whole muttering random things, if it happend to me it would creep me out!

I assume you mean the first bit in the cellar/basement? If so it would be great to act out that bit out with some friends and just close in on people from all sides and scaring them of ;p

No skins for the win.

Humanity can't be measured IMO and as above the freedom to dress how ever you want to, is a better 'feature' than a system that forces a play style in order obtain or maintain a certain look.

If you remove humanity skins then Dayz will become a big kill on sight game. That's why Rocket brought humanity back, so it's not just big pvp fest.

Not sure what game you've been playing or which forums you have been reading but its that way already and its nothing to do with how people look.

I've been helped by players in bandit skin and shot unarmed by hero's.

And think the main reason Rocket played with humanity because the guy has an imagination and is prepared to experiment with ideas.

Edit

Apologies to the OP, its a valid suggestion. I should keep my blah blah'ing to general.

It should have a way of detecting friendly interactions with strangers, eg. Not shooting them but not ignoring them either.

If a group system was implemented it would be able to tell strangers from friends.

it's one of the stronget themes of the game i think.

sincerely i didn't see any differences when there were no skins at all..personally i rely more on voice than any other factor, i shoot who's not responding unless he leaves immediatly and i leave who i don't think is sincere saying he's friendly..that doesn't mean i'll trust you completely or i won't keep you under an eye when you find a weapon..

i only hope that SA, being different from a pure FPS like arma2 is, will bring us a deeper level of interaction between players.

but in the end the game will become like now it is: you and your TS/skype group/clan vs. the rest of the world.

All you will achieve with this is promoting even more of a team deathmatch mentality, Instead of red vs blue its hero vs bandit.

You will also have more bandits getting the hero skin simply because they are successful at killing other bandits while pvp'ing on the coast.

Humanity is also decided on zombie kills.

Not in vanilla dayz.
