Beta ending in 825 wont detect steam

Im bad at english but i'll try:

Installed the 825 ending beta stuff (which is the latest)

I have 1.7.1.4

When i run the dayzbeta on my desktop which launches the beta, i cant access steam community with tab+shift.

Makes it shitty cos i cant chat or view maps from internet.

Need help please.

So basically:

I have 1.7.1.4 do i have to replace it with just 1.7.1 ?

and since i have the latest beta, i can skip to part 2 right?

No you don't have to download 1.7.1 i made it for that but it still applies to the newest dayz, and no you can't skip it because you may have not installed it properly, you don't have to download it again but you will need to do still copy the arma2oa file etc.
