HaydenBoii 0 Posted December 19, 2013 I'll need a little more information on your CPU and GPU. What model is it? Right click on your 'computer' and select properties, to see your CPU and right click your desktop and select 'personalize' > 'advanced' to see your GPU. I'm not entirely sure if it works this way on Windows 8.Well, I don't know much about computers but if I am correct my computer has APU and my GPU IS AMD RADEON HD 7470
dulix11 731 Posted December 19, 2013 Well, I don't know much about computers but if I am correct my computer has APU and my GPU IS AMD RADEON HD 7470 That doesn't sound too good. The 7470 is an 'entry level' card, which basically means its for non-gaming purposes. APUs are AMD processors that double as a GPU I'm pretty sure, but I don't think you'll be getting great frames. dulix11 731 Posted December 19, 2013 Since I don't know your exact CPU / CPU speed, I would probably guess ~20 - 30 on low. If you can find out what your CPU is, I'll be able to give a more accurate answer.
HaydenBoii 0 Posted December 19, 2013 Well, I seen a Youtube video and A guy was between their and he was going fine!!I have googled everywhere to find out how I can find a more accurate answer because I know nothing about computers, I will ask my dad when he comes home and tell me if he knows anything, But my computer is an Acer with HDMI. with a TV Monitor. AaronGallagher 0 Posted December 19, 2013 I would say ~10 - 20 on low. Maybe. Really is that all? :/ Taught it would be better than that :( Do you think if i optimised it right i could make it playable?
dulix11 731 Posted December 19, 2013 Really is that all? :/ Taught it would be better than that :( Do you think if i optimised it right i could make it playable? Maybe, but 2.5GHz is a very slow clock speed, and the 635m is a 'middle class' GPU according to game debate, so I would put your frames around 20 - 30 on low if you're lucky. Its a laptop so if im honest i wasnt expecting too much 20 - 30 fps in the open, so in cities and forests that will drop even lower. It would be playable, but firefights, forests and cities will be a nightmare. Maybe you could ask someone with a similar computer if they can run it smoothly? My mate is running a desktop he built himself so its nothing compared to this laptop :/ Dont know anyone else that plays it at the moment, Im gonna take a chance and download it, hopefully the admins will optimise it a bit better, i have some other friends who are very good with computers ill ask them to help me optimise the laptop as much as possible without overclocking it as im afraid to haha

It's up to you whether or not you want to take the plunge, might be worth it if you plan on upgrading to a more gaming friendly machine at some point in the future, but it's your call. Indeed, I wouldn't recommend overclocking anything inside a laptop. It's fine for desktop machines as you can fill them with fancy fans or other cooling devices but laptops tend to get hot enough when they're running all out on stock clock speeds... The Batman 75 Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Well, I don't know much about computers but if I am correct my computer has APU and my GPU IS AMD RADEON HD 7470 To view your CPU: From your desktop, hold the windows key (it's most likely towards the bottom left of your keyboard, it has the windows logo on it) and tap the i key on your keyboard. This will open a settings screen. Click "Change PC Settings" in the bottom right. Click on "PC and Devices", then "PC info" at the bottom. This will open a screen with your system information on it, including the Processor. Let us know what it says your processor is. I need help making a desktop First you'll need parts, I would suggest Pcpartpicker, its a pretty simple to use website. PM me if you need any more help. donakowski1@gmail.com 41 Posted December 19, 2013 Hi, I don't really know much about computers. I have played DayZ before but it has usually been pretty choppy, I was wondering if any of you had suggestions as to what settings I should run it at for the best experience. Thanks! Desktop, HP Touchsmart 520Resolution: 1920x1080RAM: 4.00GBCPU/Graphics Card (Not 100% sure if this is the correct info, sorry if it's not): Intel Core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz (And I'm also not sure about the SSD) If you can help, brilliant, thank you! Hey man, i3 is a dual core CPU, and if you are just using the on board graphics that the CPU provides i wouldn't bother trying. If it were me i would get really frustrated trying to get that to run at all. It looks like that HP is an all in one computer which leaves little option for you to update the video card unfortunately which is what needs to happen with your system. If you are going to try, drop everything to low assed settings, no Anti-aliasing or fancy filters, turn all that off. see how it runs and start upping a few settings like textures if you can get away with it. Edit: This forum is weird for edits. My shit is white. If you can, download a program called fraps and install it. Run it before you launch the game. It will give you an indication of how many frames you machine is displaying per second, this should help you to tell if the settings you adjust have any meaningful impact to in-game performance. 30fps in game is ok. More is obviously better but 30 should be playable. Anything under this is just to choppy in my experience. Good luck!
