Ciaran_s123 0 Posted February 22, 2014 Hey, I recently got DayZ standalone about a few week ago, I have put about 30 hours of playing time into it but the only thing that bugs me is that I play from a laptop which is not designed for playing games at all and I play on very low settings with about 40-50 fps.I would really appreciate it if you guys could recommend a pc for me to play DayZ Standalone on Medium settings with around 40-60 fps. My budget is €500, I don't need a copy of windows or a monitor so I can put the full €500 into the pc. I also live in Ireland.Thank you ciaran_s123.
TheLastEmp 295 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) The fastest Intel quad core you can afford... that's honestly the only thing that matters in this game. I have an AMD Bulldozer quad core @3.8 Ghz and a GTX 660 and I get worse frames than you on low settings... You want Intel and you want Nvidia... the graphics card doesn't have to be great though... Edit: I would wait and save up for a little while longer... just be happy you're getting acceptable frames at all! Michael_42 11 Posted March 16, 2014 How good will this pc build run dayz run dayz? Please answer this for the most part how many fps am I looking at inside and outside of cities? It's one of those pc's with all the parts but you put it together. Thanks in advancehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1455203

Thanks in advancehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1455203 That's a pretty good and well balanced system. You won't drop below 30 FPS in cities on mostly high settings. You'll want to disable post-process effects (DoF and rotation blur, it doesn't even look good anyway...) and drop anti-aliasing and maybe object detail down a bit though. Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 16, 2014 And what I'm I looking at with this build? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1563646 Considerably worse. The CPU is a bit weaker and the GTX 650Ti is nowhere near the GTX 750Ti in terms of it's improvement over the original version. It will still be playable but if you can afford it I would 100% definitely recommend the i5 4670 and GTX 660 combo.
Michael_42 11 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Yes, it is but I can get a prebuilt pc with a gtx 760 for $20 less. It's the one I showed you before. I would love to buy but I also need to get a wireless card and a sound card, I can always upgrade if I buy combo pc with a 500w PSU with the gtx650ti I can upgrade to the 660 in the future. I just don't have $800 but $600-$700 I can do if that includes all components plus the sound card and wireless card. Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 16, 2014 If I remember correctly GTX 760 build had a slightly worse CPU in it so I'd say that's $20 well spent. If you can't afford it then the GTX 650Ti machine will run DayZ and other games fine, but I would look at upgrading in the near future. The x50 cards tend to be a bit weak, the GTX 750Ti being a rare exception.

I'd recommend avoiding cities if you decided to go ahead and buy Arma 2, but the rest of the map should be playable. Desktop or laptop? You'd run DayZ (and most other games) a whole lot better if you invested in a dedicated graphics card though. Your CPU and amount of RAM are actually not too bad. Bullsnipples 1 Posted March 19, 2014 Hi,Im planning on buying one of two graphics cards but am stuck on which one to get. CPU: 3rd gen i7 3.5-3.9 GHZRAM: 16 GB ddr3Hardrive: 500Gb 7200rpm, 120Gb ssdGPU (at the moment): Intel HD 4000 It is a desktop. The two cards im looking at getting is either the gtx 660 superclocked ($200) GTX 780 superclocked ($530) Now at the moment i have 800 dorrars in my wallet, but it is for flying lessons, so im hesitant on the 780, but i looked at fps charts and it was better than the titan, 690, and regular 780 which costs 730 dorrars. Now how good will the 660 run DayZ?When will i have to upgrade if i get the 660?Will the 780 crush dayz and most other games? Thanks,Bullsnipples
