lord3n 33 Posted August 28, 2013 What if when you died, maybe from starving to death, maybe from a gun shot to the leg or another area that wasnt critical, what if you were offered (meaning not forced, but you can choose to) stay completely imobile where you lay dead (ish). and you could wait, for like an hour. you cant do anything, your character might just slightly move an arm. (in case someone did stumble by you, notice and want to help) what if they could heal you back to a very very feeble state, maybe some dropping unconcious. maybe it would take something like 3 x your full blood just to get you back to that feeble state. im just thinking of ways to introduce near death experiences into the game (if they arnt already) it wouldnt be an option you had to choose, but under SPECIAL circumstances, LIMITED circumstances, you had the OPTION to just sit and stare at your screen for some duration of time, go eat, shit, shower, whatever and come back to see if somone helped you. if you didnt want that option? no prob, hit the space bar and forgo you character aquired skill you learned along the way and spawn at the shore. it shouldnt be much different cause the odds of someone helping would be rare. BUT, but, someone could help. and that might make for a good DayZ story.i just think that if we found a good way to introduce near death experiences into the game, that might enhance the stories we might tell about our adventures. i thought of this after reading Deans interview with Wired:http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/08/ut_dayz/so it might already be in development. but if not, i think it might be a good option to add. and like i said, for those that didnt like it? just dont accept it. progress to the your dead screen and spawn at the coast like normal. getting the waiting for help screen would be rare, and might be like a small present, just to be able to cling on for even just a little bit with the hope that someone will find and help. of course they can find you, steal whats left of your gear, and shoot you dead also. life happens.whatcha thinking? worth considering? Mos1ey 6301 Posted August 28, 2013 This kind of exists already. When your blood drops dangerously low or you take a massive amount of damage you can fall unconscious, during this time other players can heal and resuscitateor rob and kill you. Once you're actually dead, you're dead though.
sasrecon 133 Posted August 28, 2013 To be honest if you're unconcious for an hour some zombie will stumble across you and eat away.Your idea would maybe work in a regular survival game but not a zombie-survival game.
Dagwood 680 Posted August 29, 2013 With third party communication it would be easy to navigate someone to your position to save you. Good idea, but it would be exploited.

Chaingunfighter 917 Posted August 29, 2013 Honestly I'd rather just have someone kill me or i'd join a different server if I was forced to lie around for an hour on the ground. It's a good idea in theory, but it gets incredibly annoying after a while; it happens already when you fall unconscious for a VERY LONG TIME after taking a massive amount of damage. I've actually had to wait around an hour and a half for my character to respawn once (from surviving a UH-1H crashing right in front of my GAZ and dealing huge damage). I would've normally just left, but I had things I could do in the background while I waited.
