pcjake 5 Posted August 27, 2013 When I try to log on it simply says "You were banned." The ban must have been issued sometime in the last 24 hours. Last night I was flying a helicopter (legit helicopter, I've never cheated in any way), and I got the "no message received" error. When I logged back on the helicopter has crashed and I was alive on the ground. I'm thinking the ban must have had something to do with that event, but I didn't do anything wrong. So, to recap, my player name is PCJake and I'm talking about US47. I have a few vehicles I'm repairing with a friend so I'd love to get back on rather than starting again on another server. Hopefully this post get's seen by the right people!
pcjake 5 Posted August 28, 2013 This issue has been resolved. Thanks.
Xiborg 0 Posted September 13, 2013 Woah I have the exact same problem on the exact same server and I'm in a similar situation. If you could tell me how you fixed it that would be awesome
Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted September 14, 2013 I have not been able to find a good explanation for why this happens. I found one thread that partially addresses it stating that it can be caused by a hacker making false ban messages come up. Thread Here I have also seen this explained as a result of having corrupt dayz files and also from changing your CD key. I didn't ban you and if it's not a global ban message, maybe it's just a fluke. Have you tried to join the server again?
dedoolb 157 Posted November 5, 2013 (edited) Skydive, Same here, got the message about 12:15am EST. Two other players were logged on (kylea_000 and Russe_000) before I got the message. I logged off for ~1hr after finding an ATV, tried to log back in but got "You were banned" before seeing the lobby. Logged onto other servers fine, but still can't log into 47 (lightning fast for me in Duluth! :). Since PCJake's issue was resolved in less than 24hrs, I'll try to login a few more times over the next day or so. Edit 1: Just tried to login after those players left (12:47am EST), but the ban message remains. Edited November 5, 2013 by whiskeytango
Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted November 6, 2013 Honestly, I'm not sure what causes some players to get that "You Are Banned" message. It happens very rarely and you are the first one it has happened to since the server was loaded completely fresh on the new server hardware. I have not been able to find any solid reason for it in the forums or using Google. If anyone else might have an idea of what causes this to happen to random players I would love to find out why! Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted November 6, 2013 I have opened a new thread in the Server General thread to see if I can find any answers to what causes this. See the thread here: Causes for "You Are Banned" message?
dedoolb 157 Posted November 6, 2013 I posted in your new thread that I'm happy to provide any information about my setup that may help get to the bottom of this. As of 1:40pm today (a couple minutes ago), I still get the message "You are banned." Just a matter of time before a resolution reveals itself. Thanks for the help. :)
MSM0922 0 Posted December 4, 2013 Skydive,I got the same 'you were banned' message last night, 12/04/2013. There were no other players logged on at the time but I had been playing with some friends I was hoping to join on this server. I have since tried logging back on but get same message prior to lobby. I have no issues with other servers so not a global ban. I am willing to provide any information required to help resolve. Thanks.
Statik (DayZ) 2695 Posted December 4, 2013 It's been a while since I've looked at server logs, but there is one log where all crashed heli's show up. That is also the same logs attempted anti hack bypasses show up. Could be the admin making a mistake and falsly banning?
Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted February 11, 2014 If any of you are still following this: I recently did more upgrades to the server so now it is faster than ever. In addition to this, because I put in a new, larger and faster SSD, EVERYTHING was loaded fresh for the server again. (OS, ArmA 2 CO, DayZ files, etc) If this problem still pops up, I have no idea what the source of it could be.
soultek 0 Posted February 19, 2014 Hey, Skydive, just wanted to let you know today 2/18/2014 I started receiving this message shortly after a server restart. I had been playing about an hour before and died when my vehicle exploded after checking a Heli Crash site, when I went to log in again the server reset after about a minutes, I logged back in and after 30 seconds got kicked and received the "you were banned" message. Have tried to log on a few times since then and still receive the same message. I will try to log on after the next server restart or tomorrow-ish and follow up if I get back on. Thanks. Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted February 19, 2014 This is frustrating. Okay, I made a couple changes to settings for the server so try logging on again and let me know if it is still giving the generic "You were banned" message. If so, I have found some mention of the beta patch version possibly causing issues so I could try reverting to an earlier beta version.
Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Did another full server reload tonight. This time I loaded Windows Server 2008 R2 instead of Windows Server 2012 R2 to see if maybe ArmA 2 OA is having issues with WS2012R2 for any reason. Server is back online now running on ArmA 2 Beta patch 103718 like before. Edited February 20, 2014 by Skydive
soultek 0 Posted February 19, 2014 Hey Skydive, lucks like currently still no luck, i even uninstalled and re-installed all my Arma II files to see if that might help. I appreciate you looking into it for me, sorry to be a bother. I'll keep trying every so often and let you know if I ever get back in. Take care, man. Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted February 20, 2014 Changing the server to Server 2008 R2 has made some noticeable performance increases. I think ArmA 2 and Server 2012 R2 just don't get along that well. Any of you there were receiving the "You were banned" message please try the server now and see if it still happens. Hopefully switching the OS has remedied the problem. Skydive (DayZ) 71 Posted February 20, 2014 CONFIRMED! Switching back to running Server 2008 R2 has cured the erroneous "You were banned" message! For anyone else that is thinking of running ArmA 2 OA on a server running Windows Server 2012 or Server 2012 R2; Don't Do It!
Abhorsen 0 Posted March 20, 2014 Hey Skydive, I was experiencing some sort of freeze in your server a few days ago and had to end task Arma II. I'm not sure if this is the cause, but when I try to rejoin, it says I'm banned. Anyway I can be taken off the banned list? In game tag is Abhorsen. Thanks!
