What do you want on a DayZ server?

We are going to host another  Dayz Server so we want to know what you guys would want on a DayZ server and what you do not want.

All I want from a server would be high difficulty. Having more loot, vehicles, buildings etc. custom crap would not fit in there and would ruin the experience.

More vehicles. Not 1000+ vehicles. It should be a fair amount. People need to remember that in real life there would be working cars everywhere. A car not driving for a couple of years would still be in driving condition.

 

Around 200 cars would be great for the whole map.

If that meant what I thought it meant: Then yes. Most cars would have flat batteries. But still in poor regions like Chernarus there are loads of cars. Also some of the newer ones with more effective batteries.

There would be a lot of working cars.

 

E: And even if there wasn't any power on the battery, you could still push most cars to a running start ( not sure what it's called in English).

Realistic-ish in terms of loot. Meaning that soda cans and canned food are usually pretty common, but guns and ammo are rare and should indicate that a player with a gun has done a fair share of looting before actually finding it.  I hate when it's so damn easy to find a gun, that everyone is running around, PvP ready after only being on the server for like 10 mins. Surefire way to get your server classified as a Free-for-All or Deathmatch instead of a survival game. Some people love that shit, but those servers are a dime a dozen.

 

And also, spawn in with minimum gear. What's the point of exploring and looking for shit and getting that fuzzy feeling inside when you find a Lee Enfield or AK, when you already spawn in with a damn M4 w/ 3 mags, 1911 w/ 3 mags, a bloodbag, morphine, hunting knife, map, GPS, compass and 3 or 4 bandages? I immediately scratch those kinds of servers from my list regardless if the community is great or not, big time gaming turn off. You should spawn with, at max, a patrol pack, a tazer to atleast aid in avoiding zombies until you do find a gun, a flashlight, a bandage and a map to atleast get your bearings.

 

Oh, and more buildings obviously. And actually have night time. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to play at night, but really adds to the immersion and changes your approach and play style once night hits. Now, while I say that, I hate really long nights. So I don't know, 3 hour days and 1 hour nights?

 

I think adding in AI is cool too, but that's my opinion. Some people don't like it, but it will atleast keep players on their toes when they are playing at nights or when not a lot of players are on. Anyway, I'm sure there are more, but those are big points for me and if I found a server like that, I would definitely add it to my favorites and probably make it my default server. And yeah, after reading all that you can clearly see I am looking for a hardcore server. But like I said, the extra loot, 24/7 daytime, spawn in fully geared servers are a dime a dozen. No thanks.

 i like they way you think! but no, a server where you spawn with gear and 24/7 daylight is not going to happen

what so ever. i my self also thiknk the AI's are cool and i really enjoyed sector b at origins if you experienced that, i've been thinking what we could do simmilar to that.

I'm probably the only one but I would love for there to be no side chat, first person only, and dark immersive nights (not locked to full moon like most servers). All three will probably make a lot of people want to leave, but at least the dark nights please. Not a shit ton of loot either, there are far too many servers where they make it so almost every house has a gun. Right now I find it pretty impossible to play on a populated private hive that is close to vanilla, and some times I want to get away from the public hive.

What I want in a DayZ server? That's a tough question. An easier one is what I don't want. I hate how all of today's servers are those "Spawn fully geared, PVP central" types. I would love to see a popular vanilla server, perhaps where you spawn with a Hatchet and there are a few odd extra buildings. You could satisfy everyone on the DayZ forum in one server.

*New Buildings at North East Air Field (Barrack, Fire Station, Industrial Building and Tents)

*New Buildings at North West Air Field (1 Barrack, Industrial Buildings and a Hospital)

*New Buildings at Three valleys (Fire Station and General Store )

 

We are currently thinking about removing all the trash and road blocks around the maps and the stary, berenzhino and balota camp, to compleatly remake them and add a few less road blocks around highly populated areas.(this is not desided yet, we want to hear what other people are thinking about this before we make up our minds)

 

EDIT: oh also we have been wanting to add a few AI's but with this we also want to know what people are thinking about it before we deside anything.

I voted more vehicles then normal, but what i REALLY wanted to see is a server that has very good performance.

Like even when on a full server, in elektro, my frames don't go below 25.
