What does it mean by " Private Hive " ?

Recommended Posts

Private hives are servers that are not connected to one another. Public hives are connected to all other Public hives.

If you get a gun on one public (official) server and then go to another public server, you will still have your gun.

If you get a gun on one private (unofficial server) and then change to another server, you will not have your gun anymore.

Private hives usually suck; the Admins (owners) cheat-spawn all their gear in and "players" (cheaters) pay "donations" for "donator benefits" (money for free stuff)

A hive is a database where your character position , stats and inventory is stored.

Public Hive is the official DayZ hive.

Private hives are mostly referred to the one wich have their own databases

All above are right, so I dont see a reason for anyone to reply once again.

Private hives are unofficial servers run by players with custom settings such as added vehicles or AI. Enjoy ;).
