Black screen after authentication

After joining a server, and clicking connect, it does the long loading and after "server authentication" the screen goes black. There is a white vertical line, a "disconnect" button and some random name, like Pvt George Smith.

I have no option but to disconnect, so how do I play?

Make sure you've got the correct DayZ- and Arma 2-version and actually have it enabled.

 

How do you join the server? Do you use DayZCommander?

I do indeed. Everything is up to date, although day Z commander says my Arma II (base) version (108704) says out of date, and reccomends I install "103718 (stable)", I don't see how it is not the latest....

The servers currently use 103718 and not the latest version. Try downgrading to that version using DayZCommander.

NOpe, I told Dayz commander to only find ones with 108 and there are QUITE  a few (500 out of 6347 currently!)

 

OK I'm a dumbf***. Apparently I was reading the "YOUR VERSION" when I read the server versions. Apparently only TWO of them are 108, and those are russian. So yeah.

I downgraded a little, didn't work, so I'm just full on copying the administrator's specs. (62.101747 and dayz 1.7.6.1), hope it works, keep you posted ;).
