My guess is because of steam you can't connect three or four PCs and play via a LAN network...or is there a way?

You can make LAN servers in vanilla arma, meaning you could host a DayZ server off your PC as a LAN server.

And.. you can launch it without steam by creating a shortcut to your _runa2CO_beta file loicated in your steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/ folder.  You'll need to edit the shortcut and add @dayz to the target line.

Thing is I live in a remote area, broad band should reach us in about four months and until then I play tethered to my droid...don't think that'll work well with a server. I was looking for a way to play each other offline...I'll just have to wait.
