A few problems.

So I bought ARMA2 combined ops on steam and have been having a few problems getting Dayz working. When i load up OA it says 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattack'. on the odd occasion it doesn't say that and try to join a server it says "you are unavailable to play on this server because (e.g chernorus) has been deleted" when all I’ve done is installed ARM2 and OA.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you downloaded DayZ Commander? Make sure you download the DayZ mod first of all.

This launches both Arma 2 and OA.

I've done that and it launched, but it's now saying civillian scope 1 is missing???

Right mouse click on both games in Steam, select properties and then local files, you will then see the option to 'Verify the integrity of game cache' :) select that on both games and it will download/fix any missing or corrupt files.

Get patch 103718 <----- most servers are running this version, its about the 5th one down on the left side =)

I've don what PK said, now ARMA2 wont launch.

 

Edit: now its installing the whole game again.

It won't install the whole game again unless it's all corrupt, very unlikely.

All it does it check the files are correct and replaces any that were damaged during downloading through packet loss etc

 

Once you know that the ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead files are ok you can follow the install guide from the Dayz wiki, here is the link to How to install Dayz

It's downloading 7.2 GB. so it must have all been corrupt somehow. Thanks for the link I'll get back to you guys when it's done and working.

If you continue to have the same issue, you can try this:

 

Open Command Prompt (Start>Run>CMD>and type:

mklink "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead\Addons" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns" /j

 

Hit enter and it should say junction created. (Change the directories so they match where you have the game installed so they point to the actual OA\Addons and A2\Addons folders)

 

Alternatively you can just copy the entire contents of your ArmA 2\Addons folder and paste it into your OA\Addons folder, the junction method above just saves space as it's about 7-8gb worth of files.
