I'm downloading ARMA II Complete collection and then after i'll be downloading Day Z.

 

Is this game popular anymore?

 

Is it fun? Is it worth it?

Tips/advice?

Dayz is really fun but i suggest playing Wasteland, it is pretty much dayz but without the zombies and it has heaps of vehicles with weapons in them, it also has missions to do and you make massive bases

lol it depends sometimes im still alive and my guy has been alive for 8 days so far

I'm not done installing it yet, so I don't know how to join servers and stuff, but could you walk me through it?

1. Buy Arma 2 Combined Operations from Steam.

2. Download and install both included games..

3. Run Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead once to finish installation.

4. Download and install DayZ Commander.

5. Run DayZ Commander.

6. Download and install DayZ from the versions tab.

7. Find a server.

8. Double click on it to play.

Not many anymore but all you have to do is find a good Private Hive with an Anti Cheat and the probability of anything happening will greatly decrease

I'd suggest you take a look at the hunters den (see banner below)

 

Pretty quiet atm due to holidays etc... So a good place to start and learn the basics

Here's some tips: Don't trst anyone unless you're a fresh spawn with nothing to lose. Avoid people in German army uniforms or ghillie suits. Only eat food when the hunger bar is flashing red. Be frugal with ammo, only use your gun if you're cornered or get shot at. Use stealth near the infected. Don't go prone up a fucking stairs or you'll regret it. And don't walk into trees.

I would recommend this server for you, I play on it for some time now. I especially like that there are save bases. That are bases from which no one can steal you something.

The people are nice and helpfully, not all but most of them! The only thing u have to do is download DayzOverwatch via. DayzCommander.The DayzOverwatch Mod brings some new Skins,Vehicles,Weapons and Helicopters into the Game, its AWESOME :-)
