maximun771 4 Posted August 11, 2013 Hello, my first suggestion would be for those of you who think sitting up in a forest watching over a town with your sniper looking for survivors is fun - to add hostile animals like wolves, and the odd bear etc so that is they are near and hear a gunshot they track the person and attack him/her. second suggestion would be to add a range of guns not just an m4a1 with different scopes but like a gun and different models of it such as revolvers, classic rifles like the kar98k and such to give a player a better variety when coming across these weapons. Statik (DayZ) 2695 Posted August 11, 2013 If an animal such as a wolf, or bear hears a gunshot, it's not going to track the person down and kill them. That's completely unrealistic. From what I gather there is going to be new weapons in the SA. But they also need to keep it realistic. I don't want to walk around and find lots of M4's, and other weapons foreign Chernarus.

First of all, Rocket has already discussed this, and if it does come into the game, it won't for a LONG time; the animations and animal models are a pain in the ass in ArmA. Second, you're not keeping up with devblogs at all, are you? Rocket is going to add lots of civilian rifles and hand guns, then keep their scopes/suppressors/bayonets/etc separate, so you have to loot and attach scopes/equipment to your various weapons. applejaxc 2500 Posted August 11, 2013 M4's, and other weapons foreign Chernarus. With the American "Liberation" of Chernarus from Russian forces, lots of military equipment came with them, and never made it home.

Rekli 995 Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) Exactly. From what I've gathered, the A2 campaign and DayZ aren't connected...but it's also plausible that 'Murica came in to stop the spread of the infection in the only way they know how ('tis a joke) BRAKKAKAKAKAKAKA! Chaingunfighter 917 Posted August 11, 2013 With the American "Liberation" of Chernarus from Russian forces, lots of military equipment came with them, and never made it home. They actually didn't 'liberate' them from the Russians, they liberated them from the ChZdk. Russia entered in at a very late stage towards the end of the war in order to capture one of the top-members of the Chedakis and prosecute him in Russia. But still, if the US military was in some way involved, most of the weapons we have now would make sense, albeit with a low spawn rate (There are fucking HMMWVs everywhere anyway, but no US military zombies or outfits, unless you count the pilots who wear British gear but fly in USMC vehicles.) King of kong 1117 Posted August 11, 2013 First point. I'd like to say, please don't add gun-stores in DayZ, let's keep that in America.
TIC 1050 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Wolves and other natural predators in the wilderness are adapted to their environment and sneak around whether the chances are greater to take than a risk which means if a player were to fire a weapon from several miles away, they'd hear it and go up to where the sound came from out of curiosity and if it were to happen around that time of the interval of when the shot was fired, then it'd scare the predator away unless if it was already fighting that person. I do believe these natural predators should come in as a role towards a threat and for us being able to hunt them for resources like for example even though this isn't a predator that if we were to kill a duck, we could use the feathers and bones to fletch ourselves arrow tips and feathers while we can hack off wood pieces with a hunting knife to make ourselves arrows. Expansion of weapons have been confirmed, mostly civilian and handcrafted weapons(Like an IED, spears, etc) The Kar98k is also confirmed which could allow players to add attachments as well. I'll find where it's confirmed. Edited August 12, 2013 by TIC321
King of kong 1117 Posted August 12, 2013 Oh BTW. When making a suggestion don't call it "Great" Because that's false unless alot of people say that the idea is great.
