Food & Drink to be dealt with same way as blood?

How about, instead of having the food and drink go down to flashing red, and then be completely regenerated by the consumption of one item, we have a number system, like with blood.

So imagine you have 10000/10000 hunger and thirst to begin with, and these numbers constantly drain depending on what you are doing. We can then assign numerical values to certain food/drink types, similar to how cans of food give you 200 blood, while meat gives 800.

it could be like, cans regen 500 hunger, while raw meet is 400, and cooked meet is 1500?

same with liquids, cans regen 500, water regens 1000...

of course, these numbers are just me putting the point across, im sure it could be balanced more correctly, but i think this idea would be good as it means players would be more encouraged to go inland and hunt, as opposed to living off a bean diet. Also, there could be levels of fatigue, causing you to say, run slower on an empty stomach, or when dehydrated. I'm just not really a fan of the way the food and drink levels are completely regenerated by only one item at the moment.
