Generators and fortification

Recommended Posts

There's been some cool ideas floating around as to what purpose generators should serve. Stuff like powering lighting for individual buildings or maybe even whole villages...

But I would love to see generators used towards something more practical: fortification against other players.

Use the generator to put high voltage on wired fences, making them impossible to dismantle and therefore becoming a valid way of setting up a secure encampement. Take Devil's castle for instance - the gaps in the walls could be filled up with fences and a generator could be setup in the middle. (One could make it so that a generator simply powers up fences within a certain radius)

This would be an interesting way to protect your camp even when you are offline. The downside is of course that the generator uses fuel over time, so if you want to have your gear secure when you are offline you'll need to make sure it is filled to the brim.

Of course this will be alot easier to manage for organised groups.

I'd love to see the generator come in pieces as well. So getting a fully functional generator should require a good ammount of effort.

Tell me what you think...

Generators could be used with new items such as Wires and Lights.

Generator is a coold idea. It should be destroyable by grenades and could power fences, give heat and light. So basically a full base in its own.
