stelthtaco 0 Posted July 28, 2013 Hey, so no matter what setting i play at, whether it be all maxed out, or all minimum, i can't seem to get over 30FPS. Even when i put my resolution to 600x400 i still only get 30 frames. Now the frames isn't the part i care about too much, but there's stuttering and freezing with it. The game with freeze for a couple of milliseconds and then continue every 5 seconds or so. I have tried several servers out of DayZ, as well as in it. I can play games like Battlefield 3 all maxed with 60FPS locked. I am using 320.49 drivers for GPU and have tried 326.19, with no luck. bensticles 75 Posted July 28, 2013 V sync. Turn if off. It'll cap you at 30 fps.
OfficerRaymond 2064 Posted July 28, 2013 You should be running max settings with these specs. Do what Ben said and disable Vsync.... that is what is locking your frame-rate. While your at it, disable Anti-aliasing, PPAA, and Vsync aswell. Hit your view distance @ 3,000-3,600 and match your Res with your 3D @ 1920x1080p. Makes sure your internet has a strong connection and you'll be running 60+ fps @ maxed settings.

I turned down Anti-aliasing and PPAA and gained 0 fps. And the frames aren't exactly "capped". They can't seem to reach over 40 at max. They average at around 33 but go up to 40 and then drop to 20 Edited July 28, 2013 by stelthtaco

Death_Dealer 3155 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) Very odd. I have the same processor and GPU but peek 100 FPS at times. Usually around 70. Everything on very high but anti-aliasing turned off. This is why ArmA makes no sense. And yeah, what Raymond said. Download SpeedFan (it's safe to DL) and check all your temps. (idle and under load) Post 'em here. Done, also could you tell me what GPU driver version you are using?
Death_Dealer 3155 Posted July 28, 2013 Done, also could you tell me what GPU driver version you are using? We might have different 770s (mine is the Gigabyte Windforce edition). But I'm using the latest drivers from Gigabyte's site.

But my GT 630 ran it better. Edited July 28, 2013 by stelthtaco

I should also mention I'm running DayZ and ArmA 2 on an SSD, so things are a bit faster. I highly doubt that's the reason though. Really stumped on this one; sorry, out of ideas. Really stumped on this one; sorry, out of ideas. This one is confusing.... He should be running at tip top shape......Fuckin' A. All I have left to suggest is doing a complete system Defrag, verifying all your caches, and possibly even uninstalling/reinstalling A2 & A2OA and DayZ Commander and doing another defrag after that is done.... Doesn't make any sense that you are running this low of fps with vsync off, a stable internet connection, a cool PC, and those specs. Maybe technology just hates you dude... idfk. Maybe open your case and clean it? You said you have no other problems aside from just with DayZ..... You might wanna bring a priest in or something, perform an exorcism on that shit. I can't think of anything else to suggest.. the only other reason I can think of to cause such issues is that your files are all out of whack. If nothing else works than uninstalling/reinstalling is your best bet.
