This is an arma limitation rather than a dayz one, so its seems very unlikely. would be nice to be wrong though.

Arma 2 itself will choose how much RAM it will use, your startup parameter is useless. My max. usage was around 2,1 GB.

I currently use the launch parameter which sets Arma 2 to use a maximum memory of 2047 mb. (RAM)

It is this '-maxmem=2047'

Is there any way to increase the amount of RAM you can use? 2047 is the MAX you can use, but can you go into the game files to change it?

I have 8 GB of RAM, and disable all unneeded processes before launching DayZ, so my PC still has about 4-5 GB that is not getting used.

Any thoughts?

the game cannot allocate more then 2 gig of ram nothing can be done about it its the game engine you can set it higher but it will only use the 2

K thanks.

Well at least I'm now not going to waste any more time on it XD

Just seems a shame that my PC's specs can't really be used to their full potential :-/
