If you crash a helicopter with gear in it, do you lose all that gear??????

Yes you lose everything that you had in the helicopter. Same thing happens with all vehicles in this game.

Unless its a crashed helicopter prop. Then you can sometimes find loot around it and under it.  ;)

Any vehicle that is beyond repair (ie. burnt to a crisp) will lose all its gear.

So what happens to the chopper that's been crashed? I mean if it was serviecable and flying at one time does the server reset it at it's original location and you go about finding parts all over again?

If a chopper is crashed, then upon the next server reset (which may be a long while) the burnt, crashed heli will be de-spawned and basically wiped off the map. The heli will then randomly spawn in a location which it is able to spawn in (Cherno hospital, NWAF, etc) and will require the necessary parts to make her sky worthy once more. Anything that a player stored inside the chopper will be reset upon the spawn of the new heli. Until the chopper is de-spawned then re-spawned, it will huff and puff smoke, and explode every few minutes :]
