Hive error: Unknown internal error

Recommended Posts

Hi admins,

since a few days we get the following error on our vanilla server.

The server gets a timeout when it connects to the hive resulting in a crash of the server.

We reinstalled everything twice.

Hive log:

2013-07-24 13:37:45 HiveExt: [information] HiveExt ****************
2013-07-24 13:38:06 HiveExt: [Error] Timeout

It only works after a couple of restarts.

Please advise.

Try joining a different server

There is only one official hive for vanilla. This topic is about the hosting of the server, not about players joining the server.

Its being looked into we have very little access to these systems.

But from the info im getting back it does look like there is an issue on the hive soon as i know more so will you.

Would this be what may be causing my restarts to work sometimes and then sometimes not allow players to connect?  Seems that it has been occurring as long as this post has been going on.

In addition, look what shows up in my "arma2oaserver.RPT" - not sure if this is related, though. But strange - why a devblog link in the logfile O_o

R4Z0R,

Who is responsible for the public hive database servers?  Can we light a fire under them to get this resolved a little faster than this?  I'm sure the other public hive server operators being affected by this share my feelings when I say I'm growing weary of babysitting this server everytime it restarts to ensure it talks to the hive.

I've been directed to post here; and I know it's being 'looked into' but I'm still going to post with a little urgency. (lol)

This is a MAJOR issue for us and our Community of regulars that play on our Public Servers. (and for everyone else, haha)

They are crashing ALL THE TIME and it forces us to be checking-in on our boxes almost every 30 minutes and it, obviously, give all of us a bad rep because the general DayZ Player doesn't realize that it's not -our- fault as Hosters; so they think it's an example of how our servers perform. I end up having to direct/point them here.

We're now entering the 2nd week of this issue and it's just amazing how little, to nothing, has been done. Well, something may have been done, but to us... nothing at all has been done because we're still constantly getting these errors daily, across all servers. I hope SA hasn't put -that- much of a back-burner on things.

Is the Hive Communication coming over a different/new port now or something? I'm just curious if our firewalls could be blocking new traffic. Obviously it's been working fine for months; up until now... so what's changed? Just curious to toss that out there.

(As I typed this up; we had 3 servers go down due to this error) I mean WTF guys? I know I'm getting a little frustrated here, but let's get some movement on this please?

0:29:54 HiveExt(0): [information] HiveExt ce45a1f7524c
0:30:15 HiveExt(0): [Error] Timeout

All. Day. Long. Then eventually it'll actually work; after maybe a dozen damn restarts of the server.

+1 to this.  I cant seem to keep my server up for 24 hours :(

The connection rejections seem completely random. Sometimes they time out, most of the time just get a connection refused. Usually one out of 4--5 restarts works.

That. I spend a lot of time to create a rock solid service to my users- by creating monitor scripts that automatically detect when the server crashes, automated backups, minimal downtimes etc etc - and this just ruins it and kills my userbase. I understand that issues can always occur but I wish there would at least be better informations whats going on.

I run 8 public hive servers and this is killing me at the moment...

in the meanwhile, I am directing all my players to join the 1 private hive server I run... but I have literally hundreds of players that want a public hive access. :(
