Day Z. The Mod that I can get working.

I am fairly new to these forums so sorry if I appear noobish. I have downloaded Arma II and Arma II OA

as well as DayZ, and when I try to run DayZ I will get the message 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E' If I can get some help soon please, I would be happy. Thank you and have a fun day during the apocalypse.

Combined Operations is just ArmA II and Operation Arrowhead. If you own them both you have Combined Operations.

No you don't have to buy combined operations. What you do is you make a shortcut named "Addons" in your ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead folder, and connect the shortcut to your ArmA 2 folder.

If I try to join a server (After the notice before I run the game happens) it will say Bad Version, and will kick me out of the game. I probably screwed up somewhere, since i'm a giant noob, Anyways if I can get any info, that'd be great.

there are many servers that use different patches (1.6.7.1, 1.7.7, 1.7.7.1)

to find the right versions and be able to install the DayZ Mods like origins easily and the better interface i suggest using DayZ commander.

If you're not interested in that the reason you're getting the "bad version" message is because you have a bad version and the server is running a completely different patch from your client so you have to update/downgrade depending on the patch

If you look inside your A2OA directory there is a file called _runA2CO_beta.cmd

This will run combined operations.

You can edit this file, down the bottom were it reads :run

change this "-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" to

"-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;@DayZ"

If the file is not there you need the beta patch!

il make an easy walktrough

 

1: install arma2 and arma2 operation arrowhead trough steam.

2: install DAYZCOMMANDER its the best and easyest tool for dayz.

3: run arma2 and arma2 OA each once in singelplayer so that dayzcommander understands where it is.

4: update dayz and whatever mod you want to play trough dayzcommader.

Should I re install arma II and Arma2 oa? Also when running DayZ commander and trying to join servers it says

There was an error launching Arma2 With DayZ.

 

Please check your directories in the settings panel and be sure you have the mod installed in the install/update panel.

Ok so when I go into my DayZCommander install/updates it says Arma 2: NOT FOUND (Out of Date)

and my DayZ (Corrupt)

 

Just fixed corruption.

 

Fixed Arma 2. Now when I try to join servers it kicks me out and says, Battleye Initialized. Any help?

Holy shit you can do that? After a ArmA 2/OA uninstall I never got the "Run combined OPS" option in Steam. I didn't know there was a shortcut for it...

Ok that fixed that problem, but now it says when I try to join it says downloading Mission files, and then kick me saying (Client not responding.) I'm running it off steam.
