problem

ok, i started playing dayz on my pc, woohoo.

got an hour in all's great then BAM

computer restarts.

"POWER SURGE DETECTED, COMPUTER RESTARTED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO HARDWARE"

ok i think maybe a glitch.

restarted Dayz

half hour in BAM

"POWER SURGE DETECTED, COMPUTER RESTARTED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO HARDWARE"

It only happens on Dayz

any help would be great.

do you have an asus motherboard... where does the message appear

I'm sure Amber can run you through a more detailed explanation but from what I read it has to do with Asus and it's sensitive Power Surge protector.

what psu have you got

the problem is the the asus motherboard its built in surge protection is pants and when you draw more power ei cpu get throttled playing dayz it kicks off

if you trust your psu disable it it's a known problem with asus boards thats how i guessed it was one

in your bios press a button (F1/F2/DEL???) on the post screen not sure what combo for the mb you have have a search or take a look when it boots up should say
