Survivors placing wiring inside buildings

Recommended Posts

So I've come across this problem a couple of times now where I've found wiring inside major loot buildings, like the fire station in Elektro. I take it some other survivors have placed these and they completely block off your way to the loot. Unless you have the tools to remove it (good luck having them with a new character) there is no way past it. I don't know if it's common or not, but I feel like it's a real dick move and shouldn't be possible, i.e. make it so you can't place wiring inside buildings/to block off an entrance. Just thought I'd bring this up in case it proves helpful.

Love the mod, cheers!

With that I ask, why even have it then? The whole point of the wire fencing/sand box is to block off buildings/entrances/exits. If I have a wire fencing kit, and a tool box, I can easiliy block off the only entrance to a building, cycle the gear inside it, wait for a teammate to show up, or just go afk for a bit because sometimes loading back in takes a while.

I still have my tool box, so I can just take it down once I'm done. It's a smart tactic, and if you come across a building that DOES have it, your best bet is to get away from that area.

But when the wiring stays there 24/7, it's impossible for players starting new games to get there. Not even sure if ppl went and looted there in-between the times I ended up at the fire station (a couple of days apart). Maybe make it so it disappears after some time?

happened to me last night. wiring on both entrances... i played with prone and finally got past it... no loot. a zombie heard me, walked in right past the wiring like it wasn't even there and followed me around as i made laps around the house trying to gain enough space to play with prone until i could get out. i couldn't :(

respawn!

once you leave the site, it should have a short shelf life.

trying to create a nice protected zone is one thing but stopping people from dicking around should be standard.

Yep - bloody annoying.

Went into a building and managed to hop over the wire - two zombies follow me and walk right through it.

Maybe this is realistic, though? Zombies are inured to pain, after all.

Door blocked?

Tough shit.

The only problem is that zombies can get past it.
