Stereotypes...

Recommended Posts

Its the hardship of FINALLY getting an elektro spawn, only to get shot in the face when I'm completely unarmed and I reason with them and keep my distance. Now, on the other hand, if an unarmed person stalks, follows, spies on me. I pull the trigger. Otherwise I just salute them on, until they get a gun that is.

I HATE the idea of anyone wanting to run to elektro or cherno. CMON!

If it's really how you love to play, then go for it. But seriously. You spawn, run to cherno/elektro and either die or don't find anything. Maybe you get lucky and find an ak/m16/m4... then what? It's just that playstyle that I loath. but, more power to ya. I prefer to live to kill another day.

It's mostly to get to my camps, usually go around elektro

NO NO NO!
YOU ALL DO IT WRONG

When you hold someone up, you shoot them with no warning. The thing is this shot breaks their legs. Then . whilst hiding, you tell them to drop both weapons on the ground. You then put said weps in pack and drop them about 30 M away, so that you can see if they try to crawl away. Then you take their stuff, and drop some morphine roughly 100 M away. Then you get the crap outta there.

Do you happen to know how one acquires a bandit skin?

(Wouldn't have anything to do with killing civillians and heroes would it?)

E: Plus morphine is too damn rare to waste it on someone you just shot.

Not all of us survivor/hero types think like that, i think stereotyping a group or brandishing every bandit with the same brush is stupid and is/has a negative effect on the game, for me it doesn't ruin the game it is an integral part of Day Z and surviving.

My only complaint about bandits or some is the lack of inventivness i wish bandits would do things a little different, see most i come across will just shoot on sight no matter what.

For you bandits out there do fun inventive /sick stuff to make it more enjoyable for yourselves and the victims, strange i know but here are some idea's'

1] kidnap and take said victim to cherno/elektro break his leg and leave him there with nothing(let the zeds do the killing)

2] as above but take victim to the middle of nowhere then break his leg leave him

3] Rob him of all his stuff, then make him do stupid stuff

4] Rob him then make him loot for you then kill him

5] force him to kill an other player/survivor on the promise you will let him go, then once he's done it kill him.

6] go on a man hunt pick a victim follow him where ever he goes, kill zeds near him. make him paranoid, then at a moment of choosing kill him.

i have many more idea's, sadly i never do them, i'm a non killer and have yet never killed anyone in 300+ hours, so Bandits get out there do sick/inventive stuff, instead of the boring stuff.

Well thats all fun and games but it can be a bit tricky to pull something like that off successfully, especially in a server where some might come to his rescue, what i feel is more fun to do mainly because it plays not on the game but on the player is to openly follow the survivor, for example: a survivor who is anxious and very much afraid of driving hears your truck in the distant, in a desperate attempt at surviving the next few seconds he throws himself to the ground and hopes you haven't seen him. Of course you have seen him and this is where the fun starts as you drive on ahead without slowing down, making him believe for a second that you didn't see him before you slam the brakes make full 180 and drives back. At this point the survivor will have only one option and that is to run, run for dear f***king life, so you chase him making him panic even more, at some point he is bound to make a run for it into the woods hoping that will lose you. This is the pinnacle of the attack and demands at least one PiC who will have to appear in another car driving towards him. (obviously having several People in on this makes the margin for success much higher) when you finally trap the survivor in this either ring of bandits, he will have completely surrendered waiting for his death to come, embracing death so he can start over learn from the incident and perhaps know what to do the next time, when he's standing there gun raised into the air or simply lying down on the ground waiting for the bullet, you drive away again never stealing anything from him never harming him physically, but as you drive away he will have experience something far worse than just being killed by some random thug, he will have experience true end of the world bandits who just wanna toy with people.

Where would be the fun and excitement without the fear of maybe losing all the items you have collected?

Dying isn't fun of course, but surviving is, so having an actual threat besides zombies in DayZ seems good to me.

Bandits are simply part of the zombie survival theme, so people claiming bandits ruin the game is just crap to me.

It's a different story though if people kill newly spawned players or kill survivors without even touching their loot.

For me that's really just being an asshole or minge.

i did that western movie "dance dangit dance" thing where you shoot there feet, i pull zed, break a mans legs, and the let the zed eat him while i hide, then, i make off with the loot. i have been hunger gamesed by non hackers, the best bandits ever. they broke my legs, and put me in a bus with like 10-15 other people, dragged us to a location in the middle of nowhere surrounded by sandbags, and made us fight to the death on the condition the winner got ALL the loot he wanted from the losers. i won by hiding in a bush with my gillie(had no gun, nothing pointed out) and the took a ax from a corpse as he went to receive his awards from the bandits, and murdered him. i then took the loot and...........................................stole there bus before they got on it, i beat um to it

I love bandits. The hostile human interaction is what makes this game fun. Without them, this game would be meh.

Also, I would be without a job without bandits.

If I viewed it from a simulation-like view, I can see why its like that though.

Say in a real apocalypse, you meet a bunch of bandits. You're not going to praise their murdering skill, you'll call them heartless douche-nozzles that can eat it.

Then on the opposite spectrum is hero. Really the name gives all the info needed for that.

This game is more of a survival simulator, and as such this kind of meets par with standard...

Then again I am an extremely biased hero of the world in dayz, so I suppose as a medic I can't really talk as if I know both sides of the spectrum. Just saying, it seems OK for me at least.

Bandit, hero, survivor, big difference. In the end, every time I see one I shit my pants and run for the hills.

Being a bandit is so fun but the insults you get in  sidechat are hilarious! Nice little bonus for being a bandit i think. But i do agree with you OP, i murdered a guy in Polana and he ranted at me for at least a good 20 minutes. :D

I'm alright with bandits and KOS and all that nonsense, people will play how they want to play.

But honestly, getting held up and/or kidnapped is more fun than running around then suddenly having a bushwookie dumps 2-3 AS50 mags into you from 100m away.
