Bobby23 0 Posted July 7, 2013 (edited) Hi guys,I'm really running out of options here trying to get Dayz working after installing an SSD and a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit.I have a steam copy of Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead. I have re installed them 5 TIMES and am still getting the same problem. I have tried launching Dayz via steam and Dayz commander, installing Arma 2 and OA on both my SSD and both my other HDD's, including installing them directly and using junctions, but to no avail. Dayz was working fine before the SSD upgrade and the clean windows install, but after this happens, and i will try and explain in as much detail as possible.I bought Dayz combined operations on steam a while back, over 120 hours of game play back and it was working great using steam to launch Dayz, but after buying an SSD i thought that a clean install would be a good option to remove all the crap on my hard drive. I Installed my new SSD (Samsung 840 Pro 256GB) and installed all the programs i needed. I then downloaded Dayz and OA to my HDD using the feature in Steam that allows you to install games to directories other than the C drive. I followed this :http://dayzmod.com/f...-dayz-properly/ to make sure that i installed the game correctly. I launched Dayz and connected to a server with no issues, but then i started experiencing large stutters and GPU usage dropped to 1%. so i lowered the setting and it didn't help, so i quit the game and restarted my PC, but when i tried to launch Dayz again, it wouldn't start getting stuck on the box and tick thing before it opens, so i closed it, and tried to open Arma 2 and OA, they both had the same problem with the tick and box thing, so i re installed them and the same thing happened it opened, lagged, then wouldn't re open, so i re installed them again, the same thing happened, this continued for 3 days installing to different locations using different methods as i explained before, so then, out of desperation i re installed steam, still the same thing, then i re installed windows, and still the same thing happened.During this time, i have used Dayz Commander and Steam to try and launch the game, but still it keeps happening. I really don't know what to do or how. As i said, the game ran fine before the SSD upgrade, but now this is happening, and its not that my PC is not powerful enough, the specs are:i5 2500k @4.48Gb ramGTX 780Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSDWD caviar blue 500 HDDWD caviar green 1 TB HDDPlease help me guys, i really don't know what is causing this, or what i can do to fix it.Thanks in advance. Storm Slider 3 Posted July 7, 2013 If you had (exact steps, ex. you downloaded ArmA II and installed it, then you downloaded Combined Operations and installed it, etc...):1. Downloaded ArmA II and installed it.2. Then you downloaded Combined Operations and installed it after you both downloaded ArmA II and installed it.3. Ran ArmA II until the main menu, and then after same with Combiner Operations.4. (I highly recommend DayZ Commander over Six) Installed DayZ Commander and updated your beta patch to the latest by clicking "install/update" on the top right corner of your screen.5. Installed DayZ through the "install/update" box.And you weren't able to run it, it might not be DayZ problem.
Bobby23 0 Posted July 7, 2013 UPDATE!I have managed to get Dayz to work running off the SSD using Commander, but not off my HDD. Is it possible there is a problem with my HDD even though it says it is healthy that's causing the issues?
Bobby23 0 Posted July 7, 2013 Don't worry guys, managed to sort it out by completely formatting my HDD.
