sean.koen85@gmail.com 17 Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) Hi guys, sorry for posting another FPS issue/question, but i'm outta ideas. In DayZ vanilla i get 40-50 FPS in nature, it drops to about 25 in cities, below 20 if the server is crowded. However, in Breaking point, my fps doens't even get to 20, no matter where i am.I figured it has to do with all the stuff they added in there. Same for Taviana when i enter Sabina, i can't get up to 20. All of my setting in Arma2 are on high, Memory on default, and AA off.I've put my specs down below, can anyone tell me what my bottleneck is?Is it GPU or CPU related?AMD Phenom II X4 8508 GB RAMXFX RADEON HD6870 1GBWin 7 64I'm planning to upgrade the GPU to a Palit GTX760 2GB Jetstream, how much will that help?I Have followed a lot of setting tweaks in DayZ, the Arma 2 config file, and tried RAMdisk. Thanks in advance guys! boneboys 7988 Posted July 6, 2013 Badly optimised and expensive assets will cause bad performance, whatever your system.
TheDesigner 1197 Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) Yeah, Breaking Point is obviously horrid in the optimization department. I can't even play it due to the massive lag spikes that last several minutes and render my character unusable. Edited July 6, 2013 by TheDesigner
Death_Dealer 3155 Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) The GPU upgrade won't really affect your overall performance, but it might help a tiny bit.Your processor speed is fine for DayZ, everything is just horribly optimized. It usually comes down to server quality for frame rate issues. Bad server = bad FPS. Edited July 6, 2013 by Death Dealer
sean.koen85@gmail.com 17 Posted July 6, 2013 Thank you for the quick response guys, appreciate it.Looks like i'll just have to wait it out for the standalone.Think i'm getting that GTX760 anyways, be prepaired for upcoming games.Cheers men!
Agent36 25 Posted July 19, 2013 For anything to do with Arma or Dayz i need to put my video settings lower to be able to run the game smooth so try and lower the graphics
