goofyomnivore 0 Posted July 6, 2013 Okay so I started playing DayZ shortly after it came out around May 2012. I played weekly at least until about that fall (IIRC). The last patch I remember was where they took out the starting weapon (pistol) from the starting kit.Anyways I decided to start playing again. I used the DayZ Commander to install updates and what not, but man IDK if it me trying to look for a server at 8AM on Saturday, but I can't find any populated servers they all seem very unpopulated at least the United States ones. Even the European servers are ampty aside from a few populated ones in France and Russia. I remember when I was playing there was always a few United States servers in the 40/50 range even at the graveyard hours of like 3am and 4am. Most populated US server I see is 18/50, and all the rest are single digits. Note: I'm trying to play the version connected to the Hive so, I have my filters on DayZ Commander to hide unofficial, hide wrong arma2 version and hide wrong dayz version. The Arma 2 version I'm playing on is: 103718 and the DayZ is: 1.7.7.1I guess basically my question is am I doing something wrong that I can't find servers or are the servers just not populated in the morning anymore? creature 1189 Posted July 6, 2013 The majority of players play on private servers. I played on a couple near full public hive servers last night. I've never seen so many people playing in the dark.

Sula 1205 Posted July 8, 2013 Not sure where you're looking, Goofy. I see plenty of UK servers with 49/50 and 60/60 players. There are lots of popular ones. Maybe it's your settings?
fluxley 2228 Posted July 8, 2013 The problem with the DayZcommander filters is they rely on the server admin naming their server correctly so you could be missing out on many servers that are just named slightly wrong. To find vanilla servers i would just leave all the filters off and search by patch number, in this case 1.7.7.1 then rearrange by player count to get rid of all the empty servers. Then its just a case of looking through the list.Private hives usually have a little cloud icon next to the name and official servers usually go by naming conventions like US 3480 or FR 129 ( those are two well run servers by the way) some private hives use the same naming like balota buddies but usually have something else to say they are private, 'whitelist' being a good example. But yeah, It is all a bit of a mess trying to find a good server unfortunately.
TG ! Jimmy 216 Posted July 8, 2013 Hey goofy,Feel free to stop by 3480 (cheers, Flux, for the recommendation btw) where you can get right back into the swing of things. There are usually plenty of players in there, and for whatever reason they tend to be generally well-behaved and I would almost dare say "nice". There's plenty of action, banditry, and all that (ofc) but you'll likely make some friends to play with. We've got a teamspeak as well, you're free to join in on the chatter. Connection info scrolls in the MOTD. Hope to see you out there.Cheers,Jimmy
