Help required: rifle/melee weapon slinging

How can I have my hatchet equipped while slinging my empty rifle? Or even storing the rifle?

I have no bullets for my Winchester (or any rifle I have had in similar situations) but the rifle is always equpped in my hands. I want to use my hatchet because a) it's quieter B) my rifle has no bullets.

Would like to keep my rifle in case I find ammo.

Put it in your pack (you have to have 10 slots) then right click the hatchet in your tool-belt and click remove from tool-belt.

I read up on that yesterday and I tried it but I am only able to store my other items in my pack. The rifle just goes to the ground.

If you have your gun in your hand and you want to put it into your backpack you MUST have ten empty spaces in your backpack, not your inventory but your backpack. If you don't have ten free spaces then you can't take out and use your hatchet while carrying a primary weapon. To drop your empty weapon click on the weapon and drag it to the left in your menu, which will make it fall to the ground. Or click the "drop" button. You will then be able to right click on your hatchet and choose "use hatchet". :thumbsup:

Thank you. That would explain it. I had other items in my pack when I had tried to do this before.
