How do I change my CD-Key through Steam?

Well, lets get this over with.

A couple of months ago, I admitadly attempted to hack with DayZ. I know, I know, scum of the earth, you bastard, go throw yourself off a bridge- I get it. It was a while ago.

I got my CD-key stolen, as you can guess. Hur dur kiddy scripter got his crap stolen, I have heard it all before. I just want to play the game again.

Is there a way to Re-purchase the game, and once I do so, how do I swap out Cd-Keys using Steam? I'm not going to attempt to hack anymore. Its not worth it. I just want to play DayZ again before the standalone comes out.

Hello there.

You can but your going to have to make a new steam account to buy the game, go ahead and do that and rebuy CO, once you have done that do the usual setup and you should be able to launch the game on the new key, what ever you do, do not relaunch arma on the old steam account as that will bring back your banned key.

now amber helios will come in here soon and say that there are other ways you can do it (because hes god like that) but for now this is the most simple method you can use, once its all running you should be good to launch commander and play as per usual.

I'm pretty sure you need a new steam account.

The key is tied to the account.

the only way to get a new key in steam is re buy it on steam run the game as admin from the new steam account to set the key then you can use your old account if you dont run it as admin as it will write you banned key back

Yeah he could of done the I was away for a few weeks and now I'm banned
