Akarinn 0 Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) Hi, i just recently started playing and iv come across nothing but servers that restart after 3 or 6 hours..Now after a restart i obviously disconnect. and usually i cant remember which server im in or i cannot i find it. So does the Servers that restart save my current character on them with all my gear until i return?Thank you.edit: Like i think what im trying to say is, After a restart does everything go back to default including myself? Do i spawn back on the coast with absolutely nothing, or does the server just reset all the car's and items so that people can find these items in the original positions once again? veristaya 71 Posted July 1, 2013 A private hive will save your current status on said server, and mostly on that server only. A public hive (e.g. official servers connected to the public hive) will save your status on ALL public servers.
PK Richie 507 Posted July 1, 2013 They have to restart frequently, ArmA isn't the best for performance and it was never designed for the Dayz mod.Without the restarts it would be laggggy as hell.
Gking19 22 Posted July 1, 2013 Basically what a restart does is cleans up the server of dead bodies and stuff to improve performance. It also puts down new items at loot spawns to replace the ones that were already looted.A server restart does not restart your character, so after the the restart, all your items in your inventory and your position in the map is saved, so after the restart, you can rejoin and resume from where you left off.If you use DayZ Commander, it has a tab full of servers recently joined, if that's the program you use. I don't know about Playwithsix, and God have mercy on your soul if you use the ARMA 2 built in server browser.
