DayZ server issues on steam

I have Arma 2 arrow head arrow head beta and all the other expansions on steam, I started them all before I downloaded the dayz mod. for what ever reason I can play on the BETA patch no problem but the regular mod (non beta) give me errors. official servers read something along the lines of a serial key issue when I know the keys are legit because they play the non modded games online. also I get a bad version error but my version reads its up to date on the server list. anyone know how to fix this?

you need to play with the beta patch for dayz mate

did you start all the game with steam running as admin
