Day Z start-up error.

Recommended Posts

I bought the Arma 2 complete edition off steam and dowloaded all the content that came with it. Then I started up Arma 2 and played around for 5 minutes then saved and exited. Next I started up OA and steam gave me a code and told me I need to enter it when the game ask for it. I played around on the game for about 5 minutes. The game never asked for a code. I looked around and played different missions and multiplayer and it never asked for the code. I assumed it was unneeded and I saved and exited and then tryed playing Day Z. When I start up Day Z I get this error. Failed to load file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead\BAF\addons\air_d_baf.pbo" - decryption of headers failed. I click 'okay' and the game continues to start-up and then it closes and says " Bad serial number given in setup " Please Help!

I'm not familiar with this error, but what are you using to launch DayZ?

Steam. This is also the second time I downloaded OA and atempted to play Day Z. I also have checked the intergrity of game cache and it says for Arma 2, Arma 2 OA, and Day Z, that "All files successfully validated." EXCEPT for OA, it says "1 file missing and will be reaquired." It says the same thing everytime I check the intergrity.

I have Arma 2, Arma 2 OA, Arma 2 PMC, Arma 2 BAF, and Arma 2 DayZ Mod installed. Steam also gave me a "OA Beta" download but I haven't installed it.

Doesn't work. "Could not find path to Arma2 Operation Arrowhead (arma20OA.exe)" - DayZ Commander

I think I am missing the executable file. Steam also suggest that my security software may be interfering with it.

You can manually change it if it doesn't find it, go into DZC settings and override the path to the OA.exe

I think I am missing the executable file. Steam also suggest that my security software may be interfering with it.

You can click the game and select properties, then verify the game cache, any missing files will be downloaded.

Depending on what AV/Firewall you use, you can add an exception so it allows the ArmA/Steam files to work.
