dikfer 0 Posted June 27, 2013 So I'm having a big problem with dayz..soon after joining any server i will start to experience dramatic frame drops from 25 to 40 depending on what i use in launch parameters for dayz commander to 9 or 8 fps lasting about a couple of minutes and happening every 10 mins or so.It happens on every server i join i've tried almost everything i could find on forums and I've seen nothing close to what i'm experiencing...i've tried changing things around in my cfg files ive tried to make a ramdisk and ive tried different launch parameters i've also tried all i can with the in-game video settings...Now im not really sure if i made the ramdisk right because it didn't mark itself as unformatted after marking it as fat 16 partition like it was said in this video,Instead no mark appeared after creating the ramdiskhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmeLuCQXn-MAnd i don't really know if i'm using the dayz commander launch parameter correctlyC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta -nosplash -maxMem=2047 -exthreads=7 -maxvram=2048 -winxp -CpuCount=4plz if there is anyone reading this who can help me and is willing to help me thru skype if necessary plz let me know.If not plz reply in forum.I have an Acer 7750g-9810i7-2670qm6gb ddr3AMD Radeon hd 7670m,2 gb vramPLZ HELP

DazTroyer 227 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) Welcome to Arma 2 / Dayz, it happens to the best of us. Some servers are wah better than other, big town plus a lot of zeds = a drop in frame rates. No amount of tweaking g will change that, you might gain a little here or there but not to a great extent imo. The Standalone should be a bit better. :) Edited June 27, 2013 by DazTroyer

Mos1ey 6301 Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) Intel Turbo Boost isn't something that you enable, it automatically boosts itself by a few Mhz whenever your CPU is under heavy load.I think the main problems are that 1) you're playing on a laptop and because of this probably suffering from overheating issues and a slow HDD bogging everything down and 2) your CPU is a little slow. What are your current graphics settings? A screenshot would be great if possible. The best thing you can do is make sure that they're set up to match the strengths and weaknesses of your system. RAMDisk will help a little bit if you manage to get that working because your HDD is probably slow, but you'll only be able to fit DayZ on there. You'll still be running all the ARMA .pbo's from the slow HDD. Edited July 1, 2013 by mZLY
