Please help me

Recommended Posts

No matter what server I try to connect to or what version the server is running and what version I downgrade to via DayZ Commander, I always disconnect after loading the server entirely.

I get a menu that just says Private George Smith

Duration: 0

and then I click disconnect and it gray screen crashes, this is for every single server, and it's persisting through uninstall/reinstall and through downgrading versions.

I would really appreciate any help, I've exhausted all my ideas.

This is most likely an ARMA issue. Are you updated to the latest patch and made sure all your Arma II: CO files are verified?

If you have steam, verify the integrity of game cache on both ARMA II and ARMA II:OA.

Have done that as well as going as far as uninstalling and reinstalling both ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: OA, still get this error. And yes, I'm on the latest patch.

Did you run Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA before you started Dayz for the 1st time?

Firewall? i know a silly question but ya never know, could be a small thing thats the prob.

Or alot servers are themed now, not many chernarus vanilla dayz servers left.

Or you have pacthed Arma 2 beta patch on Dayz commander?

Try a server search in Dayz Commander for "Dont trust anyone" I use it alot, its vanilla.

Does your Battleeye update when you join the server?

ok what is the issue that you are having. You can uninstall/reinstall untill the cows come home, wont change a thing. Now, there are steps you need to take when this shit happens. First off, you always start out with the Steam verify game cache, after you do that, you then launch each game through steam to the main menu (every arma related game). Then, if problems still persist, then check your arma 2 OA for a folder called _DZC_CACHE delete the map you are trying to join. After you have done this, before launching the game make sure arma 2 beta and the dayz servers you are joining version numbers are correct, after that make sure you have the settings in dayz commander correct.

Direct 3d- checked

disable dayz commander when joining a server.- checked

Startup Launch parameter's "-winxp" "-nosplash" "-Maxmem=2047" "-world=empty" "-cpucount=number of cores you have: (Example Mine is "-cpucount=4" because i have quad core). make sure to check mod version is the same as yours for updated servers (or downgrade to older patches, either way).

if you got it off of steam, this should fix your problems, if it doesn't then you gotta make sure windows update has been updated recently for Framework Dll's.

Set the exclusions on your antivirus program for steam, dayz commander and the entire arma 2 files and folders.

Pick up the nearest blunt object, and beat the shit out of it.

I've exhausted all efforts save the grabbing a blunt object and beating the shit out of it, I believe my Day Z is kill.

I completely load into a server to the point where I get requesting authentication, and then when that goes through at the point where a normal person would spawn in, my game stops and goes into a menu where it just says Private George Smith, duration: 0 and I get the option to disconnect. When I disconnect, the screen goes gray, and DayZ crashes. No other messages.

OP sent me this through PM (I do not do help through PM, btw)...

"I've tried everything, reinstalling, deleting dayz, reinstalling, deleting specific parts and redownloading, verifying game cache, lowering settings, everything. What always happens when I go to connect to a server, it loads all the way in, and then when I should spawn, I go to a menu that says "Private George Smith, Duration: 0" or something of the likes, and then when I click disconnect, the game goes into a gray screen and crashes.

I have the game through Steam, I use DayZ Commander, all the settings in DayZ Commander have been triple checked, I'm running on Windows 7... idk howw much more you need or if you're willing to help, but it's really bugging me ;("

Did you create a new profile (?), do it, set controls and make sure the new profile is loaded when you start.

Post your system specs, please (drivers up to date).

Does the SP game work ?

Have you tried to join MP without DayZ (Wasteland or other).

Play without DayZ to make sure it is a DayZ problem.

Thanks a bunch man, updated my AMD Drivers and deleted my old profile and created a new one, one of those two things fixed my problem apparently.
