What is your logic, Bandits/PKers in general?

Recommended Posts

I had finally had a good life. I found an AK74 and one mag in a deer stand in an Army med camp. I finally had a decent weapon, albeit no food. And I was gonna look around the rest of the camp and I saw another player. I didn't wanna shoot him, because I know how hard it can be to recover. I've done lots of lives where I didn't get crap, so finding a weapon is like a big deal (to me, anyways). Anyway, long story short, he headshotted me when I hesitated, being the nice guy I am.

So, bandits/people who kill, with how hard it is to start over weaponless and having to go into zombie towns, what's the logic in killing another player?

Rather simple, for the killing part,

1) He has stuff I could use.

2) He will not use my stuff, because I'll kill him.

As for starting new, I generaly check isolated sheds and deer stands to arm myself, only then I attempt to move into a city.(Sometimes, even in 1.7.1.4, you aggro shit through walls, and whilst unarmed, it turns out badly).

I don't find starting new and weaponless too hard, it's just annoying :)

Wouldn't it nice to have a 1 in 3 chance to spawn your corpse as a Z as they are looting your lifeless carcass, and rip their head off. Make the murdering ******** a little more cautious :) Personally I'd spawn 30 of the most vicious and angry AI on their location but then I'm a vengeful, vindictive kind of person deep down.

my logic is if they shoot, i shoot back such as today a dumbass with only 1 bullet left in his clips shot at me then reloaded as he ran away... i followed him and chopped his ass up with a hatchet

If I perceive someone to be a potential threat, now or in the future, I'll kill them.

Generally if I feel someone isn't going to try to kill me (i.e. if someone catches me by surprise and doesn't kill me despite having the chance to) or is unarmed I'll usually try to cooperate with them.

I kill people for sport. Yes, I'm a dick. Get over it. That's why I strongly believe that newbs should spawn with Makarovs at least at the moment.

I find the narrowminded logic of the cod player allbusiness fantastic...

"he has no gear, must be a noob"

Funny cuz.. you have guys who has prob twice ur game time, and 3 times ur lifespan also dies to bugs, then get's back into the game.. And you kill them, calling them a noob.. When infact, if they had the same equipment as you had, in a fair firefight they would rip ur head off and feed it to a goat..

But hey, if you wanna be ignorant and call them noobs, go right ahead..

If you don't shoot him, he will shoot you. That's the logic, that's why I kill everyone I see.

I have to agree with Sexygoat.

With Globalchat/side chat missing by the time you get close enough to use direct chat, they might shoot you, or shoot you out of the fact of you might shoot them. The fact you have a better gun then THEY do might lead them to assume you are a bandit, and kill you for what you have. I cannot count how many times this has happened to me.

If they have nothing, shooting them means nothing. If they have a gun, its a very high chance they will be a threat. Finding low level guns is not difficult. However, finding a M4A1 is.

However, I do not go down south to camp Chenro or the coast at all. I am much further up north collecting better equipment and killing other bandits/survivors who can shoot back at me. I die often enough, but mostly from doing stupid shit like ramming a player with a bicycle. :P

If they have a weapon they are a potential threat and if they do not they will become a threat in time. So i usually shoot all players I come across unless I know them (i.e playing in my ts in another group). If they have nothing I just leave the body to rot and If they do I loot it when I feel it is safe.

People shoot me on sight.

Therefor I shoot people on sight if you don't use your god damn mic.

And even if you do use your mic I will always keep my gun pointed at your head in case you try anything and I'll never lead.

A bandits equipment will generally be better than that of a survivor, to protect my investment in terms of time...I shoot on sight

It is also fun

I love this kind of flawed logic. It has no point in any competitive circle but it's always used by the loser to justify their defeat as something other than "they sucked/they didn't prepare/they acted like an idiot" instead of simply learning from it and moving on.

Day Z isn't a fair game, it's never been a fair game and using that as an excuse for your failure is only going to hold you back.

There's your answer, right in your own post: Shoot first, live, don't die 10 times trying to get a foot on the ground.

[EDIT] Stupid me doesn't do that all the time. Sometimes i think i am a nice guy and help ppl being chased by Z ... general outcome: holidays at the beach. [/EDIT]

No sarcasm intended! I used to be quite sarcastic on here, but I realized the newer player-base can't take a little fun.

I was just trying to encourage ya, that's all.

I never thought I'd be a cold blooded murderer in this game, but it turns out I am?

There's nothing logical about my reasons for it. The reasons were base emotions like fear and paranoia coupled with a lack of hesitation. I don't think about it, I just act.

Stay away from me and I won't bother you, but if you pop up in front of me, or sneak up behind me, apparently my instant gut reaction is flip out and swing my hatchet at your face. Sorry man, I'm just on a hair trigger. I'm often apologizing while I do it.

Another reason is hunger. If I'm about to starve to death and don't have a hunting knife or anything like that, and I come around a corner and see a person in that state.... well I don't hesitate. I'm a horrible person and I do feel bad.... but I also survive.

Here is my logic Avalon:

I love killing people. I really do.

I don't enjoy going into zombie infested cities to scrounge, unless I happen to kill somebody while I'm there.

I don't enjoy going to NW airfield to search the barracks for NVGs, unless I happen to kill somebody while I'm there.

I despise sitting in a forest in the middle of nowhere, because I will never kill somebody while I'm there.

My team doesn't set up tent cities because we never stay in one location. We actively run around hunting other clans (and their tents) or players.

I shoot on sight because I enjoy it. And yes, I DO hate starting over. But it's really not that bad. Then I just kill people and take their stuff. My friends can't help re-equip me because we don't use tents or vehicles.

If I die, this is what happens:

1) Die, and lose my DMR and NVGs.

2) Kill a bandit within a few hours with my Lee Enfield and take his DMR and NVGs. The cycle continues.

My logic for killing others:

All weapons are a threat.

All threats must be eliminated

If a stranger has a weapon, then he is killed

If a stranger does not have a weapon, then he is not killed

all this logic goes out the window when I newly spawn, as I have nothing to lose.

Most Survivors have died a lot in towns. I can almost PROMISE you if I went into town with my Ghillie on and silenced M4A1 /any/ survivor would shoot me for my equipment.

I'll kill you for your beans. Carrying an AK is just begging for trouble. You better use that AK if you want to keep it.

I only died 3 times in a month I played, but to be honest I find the cycle I roll with as very entertaining. I go around in a 3-4 man squad, we usually start out scavenging basic gear and making our way north towards sobor tents and then clear out all the gear in NW airfield until we get what we want. Then we go to electro or cherno and wipe out everyone we see until most of us are dead, then we rinse and repeat. It's like getting to play both sides of the game.

Your flawed logic is even worse. You can't check ever tree line for snipers, and you can't guarantee that someone won't spawn in or reach the tree line you just left when heading to a town.

My friend and I were walking in the woods one day, when while checking our 6, I happened to see a survivor going prone, apparently ready to shoot. That's the only thing that saved us. If I had looked over my other shoulder instead, I wouldn't have seen him, and might have been killed. If he had a gillie suit, I probably wouldn't have seen him either way.

Was our surviving that encounter, and the following 3 weeks due to our "awesome skillz", and that "noob's" failure? Of course not. It comes down to chance, pure and simple.
