Woodo 20 Posted June 20, 2012 I keep reading threads about Zombie Agro from 100 meters away, yet in all my days of prone crawling (including with the new patches) I've yet to agro a single zombie? If you want to go into/move around a town, you shouldn't be crouched, you should be prone. Crawling is basically the same speed as crouch-walking, but you dont agro. If you run/stand, your gunna have a bad time.
Kain Phalanx 9 Posted June 20, 2012 Crawling needs to be slower then if it's the same speed as crouch walking. Being constantly reduced to the slowest mode of movement is not fun and removes the dynamic of choosing the most suitable stances depending on the situation. Ganzor 8 Posted June 20, 2012 Remember all those zombie movies where if people wanted to travel from point A to point B they had to crawl there? It's REALISTIC!

kaffaljidhma 1 Posted June 20, 2012 with the advent of building zombies and radioactive reloading, you're going to have to shoot a zombie somewhere down the line. Why not pre-empt that by having a town meeting that you duck out of through a house?
KennyNZ 121 Posted June 20, 2012 I think it's important to remember that zombies and zombie apocalypses aren't actually real, thus trying to argue how "realistic" anything is when related to zombies is kind of tough. What might be 'logical' to you, might be the opposite to someone else, and what evidence have you got? Only what's in your imagination.
mtuckner 46 Posted June 20, 2012 Why the hell would you make a game where you have five speeds of movement with different visibility levels, but only one works around zombies. Are you dull, or just dimwitted? What is the fun of simply crawling through all the towns? I'm tired of these people who think they are "tough" by tolerating tedium. Do you feel inadequate in real life and feel the need to present a bad boy image online? What gives?
Ingway 4 Posted June 20, 2012 I'm mostly crawling and scanning the area around inside grass, it's safe, it takes time, but it's worth it.
Nalamin 0 Posted June 20, 2012 Crawling is common and makes moving in towns possible. But you can still be aggro'd while crawling. It has happened to me twice. Both times by crouching/crawling zombies. You must still keep your distance while crawling. This comment is prior to the updates 1.7.1.1 through 4. Haven't played much since these updates. I don't want to get detected, so I don't move around toggled standing or toggled running. Works for me.
Hetstaine 10852 Posted June 20, 2012 Running..like a Boss. Crawl is not part of my repertoire atm. To be a Boss one must run like a Boss.I run..like a Boss. People see me run and go..hey ,that dude runs..like..LIKE A BOSS !

Fast crawling will mess up your accuracy by making you breathe heavily and might make your hunger and thirst indicators go down more quickly (not sure about this). This gives crouching an advantage, since you can more quickly hit targets with aimed fire.
