Vanilla\Breaking Point\Origins\Other?

Hello all.

I first played DayZ last summer on the vanilla mod, but unfortunately my laptop was not enough to run it well so stopped playing after a short while.

I just got a new rig that will handle it no problem and want to start playing the mod again. Considering the various iterations the mod has now, I was wondering which one to play. Can any give any advice to a noob regarding the various options available now - maybe some pros and cons of each?

Also, I gather hacking is rampant now. Is it pretty much a necessity to find good private servers to play on?

There's still a lot of hacking about on the public hive but it has calmed down a bit i'd say, Finding a well run server with good admin really makes a difference though, but yeah a good whitelisted private hive does make a big difference to the amount of hackers you find.

Play Origins, you can do your own research about it but i think they have a great handle on Dayz. (They also have some major updates coming up!)

They have customizable cars, few new weapons, house building, AI.
