cptmike 0 Posted June 15, 2013 Hey zed heads. I was wondering what you would want to see out of the in game radio broadcasts people are going to submit. I was thinking something funny would help to break up the long trips but not so ridiculous that it takes away from the game. Also music would be cool but it probably can't be copy written . What do you guys think?

I can't wait to use themBut there will also be several "official" radio stations streamed over the internet into the game available on certain frequencies, Dean has asked for people to submit their idea/propositions. Interesting times ahead!
Felixthefriendlycat 92 Posted June 15, 2013 I hope radios will be a real thing and not a lengthy mp3 track played over voip through the radio like GTA. It would be fun to have realistic radio shows where people in game can get on the radio in a game show for instance or for requesting a song.
Maloney (DayZ) 26 Posted June 16, 2013 I've been away for a while so I don't quite understand how it's going to work, if someone can explain please do. PS. Too lazy to use searchbar or google.

cptmike 0 Posted June 16, 2013 Basically the new in game radios will be able to pick up online streaming stations tailored to dayz. I'm working on putting one together that will be from before the outbreak in order to allow for mere casual content with some intermittent news breaks and frequency hijacks. I also want to use this as a way to show off the communities creativity and will be taking original music submissions once I get the the website up. Anyone out there making music? I'm wondering, will the stations be server selected or can players select them in game?

Maloney (DayZ) 26 Posted June 16, 2013 Personally I'd like one that really suits the location. Since Chernaurus was previously Soviet territory, perhaps some survivors have discovered an abandoned soviet radio station and are now using it to entertain the survivors that roam the land, it would play Russian music made under the communist regime with a Russian version of Three Dog who updates players on recent events. Some stations could simply have a playlist of music from old movies such as Stalker (1979) as an alternative to the games soundtrack, although this obviously couldn't be official due to copywrite. Interesting times ahead!Cant wait for this! I hope they make it like GTAs radio stations, i always got a good laugh from them. Im also guessing/hoping they will allow people to broadcast their own station either on a specific server or in a certain radius of the map on the server if you get like a ham radio or something like that, would be quite interesting to hear a raid over a local radio station and either rush to their aid or join in on the fun.
