etc (DayZ) 1 Posted June 8, 2013 I've been considering switching to Linux from Windows. Will DayZ SA work natively on Linux? Is it being developed for it, or only Windows?
colekern 1364 Posted June 8, 2013 Only windows so far, but who knows? It could change after the windows release.
Grief.exe 34 Posted June 8, 2013 None of the RV 3 games run on Linux, so its pretty safe to assume that DayZ Standalone won't as well.Anything is possible for the future, but I doubt they will devote any development resources to it for a long time.
Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted June 9, 2013 You could download a Windows compatibility program and then purchase it off of Windows Steam. There are a few videos online of people running ArmA 2 off of Linux, most are using Mint. Not 100% sure, I'd suggest you stick with Windows.
WBK 176 Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) I'm thinking of making the switch, but I'll probably run both OSs side-by-side knowing that SA won't work.Anyone who uses Linux, what's it like? I'm really interested in the open source aspect of it, and it seems like the community for it and Linux itself are excellent, but I've never had any experience with it.
