DayZ on ext HDD, bad serial on setup when using on diff computer

Hi people,

I installed Dayz in my external HDD as I usually play it on my laptop and didnt want to have the installation files on there for the few times I play.

I now installed Dayz commander on my desktop, plugged in my external HDD and told commander where the install files are. All works fine

But when I launch the game I get the Bad serial on setup error as if my key was stolen or whatever the reasons are that the other people get it.

However if I then plug the HDD in my laptop again I can play normally.

Is there a way to fix this??

Do i have to copy all the profile files etc?

Your key isn't signed in the registry, check the registry first (regedit.exe)

If there isn't a key or just 000000000... you have to start the installer as admin and if you bought it on steam, then you have to start steam as admin

E: If this won't work, you have to add the (binary) key by yourself but you'll need a Hex-Key not a CD-Key!

or you can export the key from the registry of the laptop to your desktop
