A bunch of SA Ideas, suggestions and Promotions

This post will LITERALLY be a wall of text.

Reading it may or may not kill your eyes. :lol:

With that out the way, here's the stuff:

  1. Character customization(s)

  2. Key-binded Weapon aim

  3. Weapons (including Improvised and melee + attachments and modifications)

  4. Clothing and accesories

  5. Vehicles

  6. Other stuff that wasn't mentioned above

So let's get to it!

1. Character customization(s)

YES, i know there are some other threads with these suggestions.

My thought with Char customization is kind of like The Sims 3, exept without the bad sync and such.

What i would like see in DayZ's char customization is more choises, like body mass and muscles, facial details and a personality that adds skill-ish possitive effects, and disadvantaging negative effects, making your character more like a real person.

With this, the KOS people might have second thoughts about getting into a fight and also making it easier for Squads/clans to identify their squadmates.

2. Key-Binded Weapon aim

YES, Rocket is thinking of adding this into SA, i only want to promote it here, though he mostly said all possible arguments during the small SA gameplay dev blog.

The best thing i like with this idea is that it makes the game more realistic, due to that you can't always hold a gun in 90 degrees for a long time. a recommendation i want to do for this idea is that maybe make this key-bind toggleable in the controls options. also put a time delay so that when your character have held his/her weapon aimed for more than 10 seconds, he/she puts it back down in a non-aimed stance. That is IF the player haven't aimed down their sights for 5 seconds.

3. Weapons (including Improvised and melee + attachments and modifications)

OK, so here's a wall of text:

Melee weapons

Fists, arms and legs

Basic unarmed defence that does not make high or any bleeding damage, but have a small chance of dealing knockdown or bone breaking damage.

Sharp/Cutting weapons

Knives, machetes, axes and more, chance of decapitating or amputating zombies and players, and also a high risk of dealing bleeding damage.

Blunt weapons

Sledgehammers, wrenches and more, high chance of bone breaking and knockdown damage.

Guns

What can i say? the subtitle explains itself... Maybe add some modern day weapons and guns that may or may not be normal to find in Russia or wherever the map is located.

Improvised weapons

Branches, planks and other stuff found around the map, dealing Sharp and/or Blund damage.

Attachments and modifications

Flashlights, sights, stock mods, barrel mounts, undermounts, magazine mods and more.

4. Clothing and accesories

Maybe add some modern day brands and customized clothes.

5. Vehicles

Different kinds of pickups, SUVs, hatchbacks and automobiles, also boats, rafts, helicopters, planes, bikes and motorcycles.

6. Other stuff that wasn't mentioned above

Maybe add:

a use for the crowbar, such as to open locked or barricaded doors and windows.

a siphoning system for Vehicles.

big malls and apartment buildings to loot.

More animals to hunt.

a squad/clan system.

Feel free to add and discuss your, mine or/and others ideas to the list and hopefully Rocket and the dev team gets good ideas from our ideas!

What if I told you that all of this was already in the mod just about?

All I want from the SA is JSRS gun sounds

The type of customization that you specify is really the only kind I'd be satisfied with, but I think it would be a very good implementation if they had a custom facial system that you could make your character based on, but wouldn't have any gameplay changes. The problem is; the current engine doesn't support this as the entire model and the faces of the characters have to be manually textured and modeled, and it's very hard to take an engine to something like that. That's one of the reasons why Arma has never had ragdoll physics until A3, because the engine as is did not support it and every game back to operation flash point didn't have the resources to focus on making ragdolls.

Unfortunately, other than that, your post is pretty vague and most of the stuff specifically you have suggested has either already been confirmed, is already in or has been suggested at least 3 million times.

I am new to these forums so I'm not sure if this has been suggested. How about instead of there only being three different types of characters (survivor,hero,and bandit) we add a fourth. (Survivalist) Instead of basing this character on your interactions with other players its solely based on how long you survive. Its hard to get and easy to lose and the perks would only be pve. You can go longer without food and drink, get more hp from food, more resistant to infection and so on

(Survivalist) Instead of basing this character on your interactions with other players its solely based on how long you survive. Its hard to get and easy to lose and the perks would only be pve. You can go longer without food and drink, get more hp from food, more resistant to infection and so on

It seems as if the character system will be removed in SA from what we've seen.

well, i did mostly make this post for people to discuss and share their suggestions with other people, even if their suggestions have been shared many times, and also so that i could find out more on what other people would like to see in the SA.

the list of suggestions i made were simply only to start off the discussion with basic arguments.

i like that you agreed with me on the Char customization and i agree with you on a custom face system. i hope that we're lucky and Rocket just happens stumble in here and gets some ideas for SA.
