Who Dosent Shoot Bandits On Sight?

Just thought id throw this poll up.

Im a hero, and i personally dont shoot bandits on sight, i give them a chance to prove themself, however it seems that most people shoot bandits on sight regardless, go ahead and vote on the poll and let me know your approach to bandits.

Also if you have a specific reason go ahead and type it in a reply to this thread.

I have been given the bandit skin in self defense many times, also i know some hardcore bandits that dont shoot heroes, hence my "dont kill bandits on sight" policy.

I usually do KoS, but I end up dead alot of the time because of my 200 ping and retarded decision making.

I guess being a hero its a little easier for me to say "i dont shoot bandits on sight" because they are a little less likely to kill a hero, so i can kinda see were you guys are coming from.

Here is the one thing I would try if I could though, hehehehe. Lure said bandit into building with c4, break his or her leg, walk out turn around and hit button

and then get shot in the head by some new guy running about hah.

usually when i see a bandit, hes not alone. one bandit skin= i might believe he got the skin in self defense. two bandit skins together=KoS

i try to leave them be but if i have a clear shot ill take it

I shoot on sight knowing that I'd most likely receive the same consideration, which is a shame because I know a lot of people that have gotten bandit skins for heroic acts, like saving survivors from bandits.

The problem is, these days not all bandits wear the the skin. More likely is that I will run into clan members who follow the policy of kill everyone that does not sport their initials. Those guys ... I have a sort of crush on them. In place of chocolates, I like to send them satchel charges. As for those who actually wear the bandit skin? I treat them like most any other questionable survivor. I shoot them in the leg. Whether I then approach them or not depends on what I have going on.

(Take this to no offense, im just using you as an example as there are many with the same thought process.)

I find this to be abit of a problem, some Bandits say that "In some ways, Heroes are not better than Bandits, they just stand on a moral high ground."

And in some ways there kinda right, sure we got to our skin being generally friendly and aiding others, but if we shoot every bandit we see on sight, then surely that is bandit mentality? Of course there are many scenarios that would mean killing a bandit was probably a good idea, but i see that as abusing the hero skin a little, seen as that bandit may lay some trust into you, think your friendly, may even ask for help from you, and then you shoot him before he gets the chance.

i guess it all comes down to what you think being a hero is, i think it makes me a player who helps all and any who requests it with sincerity, not an "Anti-Bandit" on a moral high ground.

I dont know maybe my ideology here confuses some, i like to attempt to follow in the footstep of " Dr. Wasteland M.D. " who would literately gives everyone a second chance, and offer help to anyone dispite the path they have taken within DayZ.

I don't like to kill anyone if I have to. I normally just avoid the situation or if I have to cripple the bandit and leave. When fired upon I kill with lethal force but If I have the upper hand I can choose when and where I want to engage even if I don't want to. Hopefully bandits do the same to heroes at times.... but I will never know because they may have their sniper rifles pointed at me and decided to not fire.

Varies from situation to situation, which is precisely why I love this game - every encounter is different from the last. That being said, if I know I can control the situation I am very reluctant to KOS. But if, for example, i'm inside of a building or town and see a bandit skin come running around the corner it's very likely that he's going to get shot haha.

I don't see why you shouldn't shoot a Bandit on sight. If they see you, they'll shoot you on sight, so why not return the favor? :P

I've got mixed reactions for bandits. If he's got a lethal ranged weapon and he's seen me, he's dead. If he doesn't see me I go behind him and hold him up. Either way, he's dead...
