How do I increase framrate and make the game run more smoothly?

Recommended Posts

here's a video of destiny playing:

It seems when he plays his movement when looking left and right are really smooth.

Also how do I get third person using a laptop?

Any ideas how to get my game to look like destiny's in terms of smoothness would be appreciated.

It would probably help if you posted your system specs. No matter how much you lower your settings, if your PC can't handle it there's nothing you can do. As for the third person I would guess you'd have to rebind the key if you don't have a numpad.

ARMA 2 is pretty taxing on PCs. You need good hardware to run it. Search for other threads, there's plenty of info on getting better performance.

As for third person, you can change which key that is bound to in the controls.

For game smoothness, you're probably getting stuttering from HDD streaming. Read some of the info in my thread HOW TO STREAM DAYZ OFF RAMDISK

To enter Third Person you must rebind your key in Options/Controls.

As for the frame rate, it would help if we knew your system specs so we could give some specific advice(Like Graphics Card specific optimization's).

I'll look into the keybindings, but there are literally like hundreds.

About the specs, I have a 1100$ dell studio. i5 core, 4gb ram, 2.4ghz (processing power.)

I can run diablo, starcraft, tf2 etc on usually med-high graphics with 0 problems.

My dayz isn't terribly laggy, but when I move left to right it's a tad shaky and doesn't seem to be as smooth as in destinys stream.

Like I said, it's the streaming from your harddisk. Your laptops HDD is too slow. When you look around, your game is trying to load everything. Read my thread I linked.
