Seriously these threads need to stop, you died because of a bug so you need to report it in the troubleshooting forums or bug reports not crying here in general chat. Same thing happened to me and i guarantee I had better gear then you.

I lost all my water and I'll probably die of thirst but I'm looking forward to starting over.

Keep developing Rocket, this game is awesome.

Alpha: <---YOU ARE HERE!!!

Usually done in-house by developers and QAs.

Alpha quality software has undergone only the most superficial of testing. It may contain known bugs, and almost certainly contains unknown bugs. Features intended for the final release may be incomplete or missing.

Beta:

Usually released to a handful of people ("public"). But a lot more common these days as a word for "demo" or "pre-order" hype.

Beta quality software has all features intended for final release. Generally have fixed all known bugs, but sometimes bugs considered minor is in the beta software. Beta software has been tested, but not extensively. It probably contains many bugs that's yet not discovered.

Last but not least

Gamma:

Release.

Release quality software has been tested extensively on multiple computers with different software versions.

P.S It will contain no known bugs, unless the bug is difficult to remove.

If you don't get attached to your equipment you're doing it wrong.

The attachment is what makes this game good.

Well everyone is entitled to his opinion.

I,for instance, love far more "finding" of stuff then to live in paranoia and fear of loosing it afterwards.

The times when I get fully geared up and manage to stay with it for a while is when the game starts to become boring for me. I become paranoid and afraid of dieing and the game becomes less fun.

Once I die, the fun of surviving Cherno for some basic gear and fighting my way back out toward Starry with a map and an "almost accurate" heading without a compass is what I enjoy. The joy of finding my precious DMR again, or anther pair of NVGs/GPS/range finder that were all so useful. The fun is not dependent on the gear, rather it depends on the lack of it.

Also as to the topic at hand, shit happens. I was EATEN BY A ROCK with a coyote pack, m4a1 (or a2, dunno) cco sd with plenty of ammo, GPS, and all of the other basic goodies. If you want to avoid man eating rocks, I do not suggest ever standing on a rock. I have found several around the map and have taken to steering clear of rocks in general. Also if you hit one on an ATV you launch 90 meters into the air while doing multiple back flips.
