quicksand

Recommended Posts

searched the forum but was surprised to find no reference to this

maybe have little spots randomly appear around the new marshes after heavy rain, would need another player to help you out before you sink beneath providing an opportunity for both incidents of altruistic kindness and merciless cruelty.

edit - sry for the bizarre video, it was the first one I found

I'd find pits of it, quickly throw a backpack/NVGs/whatever on it, and wait in a bush. Soon as a player ran up to get it, I'd break their leg and laugh mercilessly as they sank.

The thing is, raining doesn't make quicksand. Plus, I don't think there is quicksand in Russia/Czech. It's a neat concept, but it's impractical. It would also be infuriating to get all my good gear, only to step in quicksand and be hopelessly screwed.

You may be correct, I don't know, how about mud, mud is everywhere and even if patches slowed you down, tired you out and occasionally trapped you it would be cool, imagine coming across the guy that just shot you stuck knee deep in mud =)

But you won't get knee deep mud from rain.

of course you do, of course the video is an extreme example. I live on a farm and there are some well trodden tracks that have spots where, after heavy rains, the mud is more than knee deep, Lost count of the amount of ramblers and dog walkers who lost a welly or two.
